"Get into the groove boy you've got to prove your love to me"
Played on the radio as we drove down south to see our families
You were lying there in the passenger chair sound asleep
I could recall a time when evenings were bright and thick with love
And all the city streets and their lights they were so mysterious
Oh life it was so wonderful it would shine just like fire
How we sat on the backs of our cars and laughed into the morning
I thought you'd come and go
I never thought you would stay
And I'm sorry if I tried to push you away
But the edges they fold and you suddenly find you are buried beneath
A blanket of snow you had no idea was even falling
Now you're sitting on a ouch inside your home feeling cold
Mothing is clear, all your thoughts they have become so hard to find
With a question mark always slumped at the end of these awkward lines
All the simple words we loved to speak are no longer audible
And I never thought with you and I this would be possible
I can feel the world coming apart
And I need you by my side with your delicate heart
So please don't leave me no don't you run
Don't be frightened by the storm so bold and brave
Just let it rain

General Comment:The first line seems to suggest its not about Nick himself but a fictional couple perhaps to express part of his life. I just cant get over
"I thought you'd come and go.
I never thought you would stay,
And I'm sorry if I tried to push you away."
It made me think about a lot of people that I wish I had a second chance with.

General Comment:well I always had the feeling that it was written by nick for maybe andy, but it's not a gay song whatever that means. it's a song that can apply to any kind of love relationship.

General Comment:I just got into a stiff with my boyfriend, and thought of this song. For me in means something along the lines of, "don't stay mad" and how after fights people still stay together. the refrences to his recollections are kind of reflecting on things during the fight..

It's deff. a sad song, but with an open ending.. and I think it's upbeat melodies imply happy endings.

im gay, and i don't think this is a gay song, just a love song.

General Comment:Love this song. Being an openly gay senorito as well. I don't feel its about homosexuality at all. I think its just an honest case of not realizing what you've got till its gone.

General Comment:i dont think that just because nick wrote it, the song has to do with homosexuality. nick also wrote 'forget the feeling,' but nobody is jumping on that song saying its about him being gay.
but this song has to be one of my favorites. its so pretty.

General Comment:Well it seems like to me nick has written this but im not sure if his total gayness is the main thing. And also i dont kno if its with a band member or not but i had no idea about the interworkings of the band so you guys are probably right. It just seems to me that he acts and sounds so gay that any girl would know but i guess that never seems to be true.

General Comment:well. if nick wrote it, i'm very certain it's about homosexuality. because while derek and jamie are engaged, nick is openly gay. he dated the lead singer of now it's overhead. that.. andy guy.

General Comment:Well, I don't think this song is about Nick and Derek, mainly because not too long ago Derek proposed to Jamie. But, who knows?

In a radio session they did, Nick introduced this song and one of the girls gives a little "aww." Which makes me think that maybe this song is like Nick's baby. If so it probably means a lot to him, which I think is really sweet.

Every time I hear this song I picture it in my head and it's so beautiful. I love it.
