Those wolf mechanics! Those wolf mechanics!

And today, you beat the fortune teller to death with your barehands.
Was it his smirk, laugh, or the ostrich feather taped to his purple hat?
He read the lines on your palm,
chanted a creole song.
"It is soon you will die,
and angel's don't take bribes."

Don't linger..
On the skylight..
You smashed it into the man's skull.

Just run back to the alley.
Tell jokes to the bricks, and the rats.
Because one man's murder scene,
is another champagne party.
One man's severed spine,
is a soldier's war decoration.

WOLF MECHANICS!
Flare up; again.
Oh, you make your way back to the Financial District.
The subway's a numb field.
And every dazed boy and girl makes you lick your lips.
And the girl with the accordian, oh-oh.
Chewing grass like a lamb.
She hands you the juicy eye,
and then she laughs at your pathetic tie.

Don't linger...
On the grin you gouged in her throat.
Just take the subway home.
But, the wife and kids twinkle like stuffed dogs.

And you're like
The stormy ocean now!
Collecting death like driftwood!

These wolf mechanics bangin'!
Those wolf mechanics crashin'!

One man's suicide,
is a credit company's bride.
One man's poisoned mind,
is a pharmaceutical goldmine.

You bring your kill,
from the savannah
and bake it in the sun.
But the heat warps it's flesh,
you see the face of God in the tarry mess.
And.. Those wolf mechanics bangin'!
Those wolf mechanics crashin'!

General Comment:I have to agree with xxblackoctoberxx,
The lines hes quoted change the whole meaning of the song.
Otherwise I'd also think its about someone who starts killing people and keeps going.

    General Comment:I agree w/ gunplusgun.
The "wolf mechanics" are the instincts for
rage, hate, and malice inside all of us.

General Comment:To me, its about that sort of rage that lives inside everyone. It works like mechanics, once its triggered it completely crashes into this mass of anger and violence and stuff. Wolves are animals that work on that instinct & need for power. The song seems to be about that rage, and how people often feed off it. Like when a man kills someone in a savage way, he gets psychological help which costs money; and lots of it. So its just about how one persons destructive acts can be another persons gain.

that twinkling part makes me think of a film, The Red Dragon because the killer used to put mirrors in his victims eyes in order to simulate an audience. anyways, its wonderfully fucked up song.

General Comment:also i think its talking about how companies hope for people to die because they feed off of it and get richer.

    "One man's suicide,
    is a credit company's bride.
    One man's poisoned mind,
    is a pharmaceutical goldmine"
^obvious: shows how those kind of companies benefit from death

    and

    Because one man's murder scene,
    is another champagne party.
    One man's severed spine,
    is a soldier's war decoration.
^showing how cops get paid and keep there job from the work that comes from a murder and also how a soldier benefits from the kills me makes.

    i dont know

General Comment:I think he found a pleasure in killing--It gave him this sense of power..
Each time it was a way to reflame his ego.
The fortune teller tells him he will die; and cannot escape it. So he kills him.
The girl looks at him weird--and laughs at him. So he kills her.
It just became this buildup of murders.
"You're like the stormy ocean now! Collecting death like driftwood!"
And "You bring your kill, from the savannah and bake it in the sun.
But the heat warps it's flesh, you see the face of god in the tarry mess"
His enjoyment--His step back up towards being the man he wants to be.

Not to mention a Wolf is viewed as a murderous predator.
