Led to other worlds
By the girls she curled within
I took their skins to see her
Be my mannequin

Be my mannequin
I cannot remember
How it was that we first met
Curve of moon and haunted shore
The stars were not those heaven sent

Did we come together
At masked palatial balls
In silks and flesh and leather
Or did we come at all?
I dreamt a midnight castle
The eerie song of wolves
And eyes that danced with fire
As they have forever more

Our rites of sin
Have long fathered a hymn
To burden him
Whom by slip of after whim
At genesis
Dressed her like the wind
In autumn gowns
That pinned her down
To be my mannequin

Be my mannequin
Always poised on winter
But never would she break
My lovecraft and black witch heart
That pounded in her wake

We kissed on distant balconies
A law unto her own
Thirteenth dark commandment
Of figures pressed to stone
Turning cream with fantasies
That God alone would know
We graced vomitorium
With the sweet excess of rome

Flagrant in the past
Our names were deeply carved on the tree of life in long dead languages

Led to other worlds
By the girls she curled within
I took their skins to see her
Be my mannequin

Be my mannequin
I tongued the nuns at louviers
But not one word possessed
Her divine right, an archetype
For mortal goddesses...

General Comment:Ha. In this line, which someone mentioned:

I tongued the nuns at Louviers
    But not one word possessed

He is saying he tounged nuns, then clarifying he did not mean speaking of them.

Overall, I think this song is about bondage, domination, and maybe role playing. It's quite sexy.

General Comment:There are alot of connotations to Aleister Crowley as well. He had his Scarlet Whores, and his temple prostitutes... He always thought his current love was "The Whore of Babylon," so you can see in some songs certain words that suggest his influence, he did believe himself to be "The Great Beast."

Look up Leila Waddell for instance.

My Interpretation:This album is VERY loosely based off Paradise Lost. It is Dani Filths own fictional take on, The Fall of mankind. This is either a situation in which Lucifer calls the Whore of Babylon, then she becomes his Whore to do his bidding, he chose a woman to do his bidding and a very sexy and gorgeous woman at that.

I believe this is not his true love, but, another woman he seduced into doing his evil bidding; a loese woman obviously. His love in the album is 'Faith,'which obviously proves it isn't based off Paradise Lost completely. It has it's own story. :D The best I could do out of the lyrics.

    Makes the most sense.

General Comment:Has anyone ever stopped to think that this song was written to Babylon? Not just one woman but the whole city? Like when he says:

    "Led to other worlds
By the girls she curled within"

And... I have also thought that any/all love songs written from the eyes of "Lucifer" on this album were never about a single woman. I believe that Dani takes it from a point that Lucifer feels like humanity was HIS bride until the coming of Jesus, hence the song after this one "I thank God for the suffering".

General Comment:Most of the Damnation And A Day album was based on Paradise Lost, which was based on the fall of Lucifer and, through that, the fall of Man. Throughout the album, there are continual references to a woman but no name is given (to my knowledge).

Given the nature of the album, I'm not convinced that all this is about a woman at all. I think it may just be a reference to some other theme, like a reference to Lucifer's pride or something...

Then again, that's just me... I'm probably way off.

General Comment:Well I agree it has to do with a girl that everyone wants.
    "Led to other worlds
By the girls she curled within
I took their skins to see Her
    Be my mannequin"

Thats saying that she could be lesbian or bisexual? He is trying to recreate this beauty he cannot have

General Comment:I am the enemy, Indulgences had nothing to do with making people bow to the church. All an indulgence was was spending money to supposedly get your soul or the soul of a loved one cleared from purgatory, the great punishment house between earth, and either heaven or hell. I don't know anything about the babylon whore though. I know at least most of this CD has to do with the fall of lucifer, but I have no idea what this song is about. On the surface, it would seem to be about a girl with an eating disorder or some sort of sex idol for dani, but cradle's work can never be interpreted from the surface...
