It was a couple of years ago
I was sitting beside my window
and never will make the same mistake
'cause that’s when he walked on by
almost a year I followed
I don’t regret a single a day.

Then he changed
and proceeded to tear from me
every inch of soul you see
and he’s kept it to this day.

And I die everytime
I find a piece of him
in corners of my mind
so I washed it all away
and time it took me time
but I had left those memories back and far behind
he called me yesterday,
Just to say hey.

I was the last to know
such an infatuation
that I can say
with certainty...

Then he changed
and proceeded to tear from me
every inch of soul you see
and he’s kept it to this day.

And I die everytime I find a piece of him
in corners of my mind
so I washed it all away
and time it took me time
but I had left those memories back and far behind
he called me yesterday,
Just to say hey.

It took me a lifetime to forget you but I did
I never want to see your face or speak your name....

I die everytime I find a piece of him in corners of my mind
so I washed it all away
And time it took me time
but I had left those memories back and far behind
he called me yesterday,
Just to say hey.

When this song was on her website prior to her new album I absolutely loved it and was disappointed when it wasn't released, but it completely pales into insignificance when compared to the songs on Wild Hope, and it wouldn't have fitted with the tone of the album at all! Hearing it again now it's definitely not as good as I remember, I think I was just desperate for anything new from Mandy! It certainly is catchy though, and I like the theme: it's so annoying when you have struggled to get over someone and they pop up again out of the blue. It stirs up old feelings and throws you into turmoil again.
