You fell down the stairs into my arms
And swiftly ran the other way
And I heard the steady swell of applause
The two drunk kids trying to figure out which way was home
They got lost as they were taking off each others clothes
They realized there was a hole in the boat
And with no lifesaver you try your best to float

And eventually the sky did return and I was there outside in green
And I watched the world being reborn till 1am
So I thought I'd let you know it was beautiful
Slow-dancing to tunes of Billy Holiday
The city looked wonderful that way
And love just like blood will always stain

And if I could reverse it I don't think that it'd be worth it
Cause I know in my heart I would never let you tumble to the ground

No I'll never let you fall
I would never let you tumble to the ground

General Comment:I heard an interesting interpretation that the "hole in the boat" meant the condom broke, and "trying to float" meant trying to deal with the fact that the girl was pregnant.

General Comment:the two met each other and while one was eager and probably naive towards love, the other had been hurt before and ran away initially. the first part's about how young love is clumsy but thrilling. a problem arose that they just didn't choose to acknowledge. because of that it escalated to the point of squandering for those remnants of what they had had. eventually, everything became beautiful again and, to them, the world was reborn. love creates an impact that you can never remove, regardless of want or need. she shuns any thought of going back and changing her decisions, because they allowed her to feel the emotions and have the experiences that she did.

General Comment:i hate it when people get annoyed at people saying not to try and figure out what a song means, when they didn't even contribute something themselves.

'And I watched the world being reborn, ‘Till one a.m.'
i love that line so much.
i think it's about two kids that loved each other realizing it wouldn't work out (the 'hole in the boat'), but the narrator would never take any of it back because it was so amazing while it lasted.

General Comment:fav tilly song right here, and that's saying alot. i love every song they've ever made.
just all of their voices coming in right after the clapping with "you fell down the stairs into my arms". ahh just amazing. this is like the perfect song really. the lyrics are so young, but they know what their talking about. and i might as well not even say how great that one line is, cuz it just goes without saying that whoever made that line is a fxcking genious hands down. (they all are but you get it)

reminds me of laying in the grass with a boy...and just talking and seeing the world through new eyes.

General Comment:It's a sing along song. No need to analyze the lyrics, it's meant to be sung with kids in the park or adults at a party. Takes a terrible mood and makes it happy. In 3 minutes. the perfect pop song.
