Just know
We are
A spec
In time.

So follow your bliss
And destroy the beauty

I'll lock myself alone in a room
Drink until the clock strikes noon
With just a pen, a pill, and some paper
And maybe I will write a sad song
Or another cliche poem
Of the person that I long to be

I want to die like Jim Morrison
A fucking rock star
I want to die like god on the cover of time.
Just a blink and it's gone
So baby pour some fame in my glass.

So kill the forest
And destroy the beauty.

I'll lock myself alone in a room
Drink until the clock strikes noon
With just a pen, a pill, and some paper
And maybe I will write a sad song
Or another cliche poem
Of the person that I long to be

(Colors blind)
the eyes
(Sounds deafen)
the ear
(Flavors numb)
the taste
(Thoughts weaken)
the mind

I'll attack someone with a switchblade knife
So that I can see their pain
I choose to be a serial killer
'Cause the victims don't get any fame.

I'll lock myself alone in a room
Drink until the clock strikes noon
With just a pen, a pill, and some paper
And maybe I will write a sad song
Or another cliche poem
Of the person that I long to be

Just know we are a spec in time

General Comment:dam this is just me, but maybe the title has something to do with shakespeare, i mean its been said he died on his birthday, i love how he refers to jim morrisons death, god dying on time magazine and if the title does have to do with shakespeares death, that is fukin tyte!

songs about wanting fame, and maybe how fame kills??... shot in the dark
his screaming in this song, amazing!

"I'll attack someone with a switchblade
So that I can see their pain
I choose to be a serial killer
Cause the victims don't get any fame"

my favorite part in the song, although the lyrics are sick nd perverse lol but thats what i love about them :)

General Comment:the irony of dying on ur birthday.
well u died the day u were born on.
    considence? nope.
    irony.
this song is about the irony of being famous if he wants to kill r mayb b killed. fame is like a disease it weakens ur thoughts n make u lose judgement.
**btw i love the ending wen like all three voices r singing different verses. one is screaming, the other one is sigining the chous, n the other one is singins somethign else.

General Comment:this is a great song. i like all the lyrics. but the best ones are.
" i lock myself alone in a room
drink untill the clock strikes noon
with just a pen, a pill, and some paper..."

i can really identify with these lyrics because sadly that is the way i write most of my poetry. pop some vicoden. grab a bottle of vodka. and baracade my self in my room. and it works everytime. but the doctor wont give me anymore vicoden. haha o well. ill just find another doctor.

as for the meaning. i think hes talking about how everyone is judging what he writes. he cant write with all the pressure. so he locks his self away and takes stuff to ease the anxiety. and that its not easy being famous. some people cant handle it and do crazy(yet awesome)shit. like "attack someone with a switchblade knife.." haha.(i love death, serial killers, etc)

General Comment:hay apart from this being a AWSOME SONG!!

i think that at the part of the song that goes

"I'll attack someone with a switchblade
So that I can see their pain
I choose to be a serial killer
Cause the victims don't get any fame"

i think it is showing that scince he cant get fame in a jim morrison way he's decided to go for infamy insted

General Comment:Holy crap, donutman is a nutcase. calm down, you don't have to bite peoples heads off, so shut up. The song is talking in a somewhat sarcastic sense, talking about how he wants to die a rock star and famous, but in reality fame is worked up to much, and isn't worth all it's said to be, it's overrated.

General Comment:The whole thing about "colors blind the eyes" etc. comes from Buddy's interest in spirituality, and it's also where Senses Fail's name comes from. I'm not exactly sure where it comes from (what religion/philosophy), but supposedly, when you go on a journey to find yourself ("follow your bliss") all your senses will fail you. And that's supposed to be true nirvana. Or something.

That's not word for word, and I probably butchered the explanation, but yeah. You get the picture.

General Comment:the "i wanna die like god on the cover of time" refers to the cover of Time magazine on April 8 1966 when on the cover it just had the question "Is God Dead?"
