Lyrics for Break You as interpreted by jc6md

Break You Lyrics
Endless mornings cut by the dawn razor
Whipping the nightmares to a froth
Endless questions with no answers
No replacement for what's been lost
Lost.
Everything suffocates in the dust of past fortunes squandered
The empire of lies to whom you pandered
Suffer a self imposed exile, taste the bitter fruits of denial
In the presence of greatness the humble can only bow
Frost on the breath of life
Empty of warmth or light
Full of nothing but deprivation
Eternal winter
Tell me a lie with the best of intentions
Mute in the age of mass communication
Dark days lead to darker nights
Frozen, out of time
Id dies for blessed ego, the once mighty laid low
Frost on the breath of life
Empty of warmth or light
Full of nothing but deprivation
You taught hate, I'll teach you fear
Open the eyes, kill despair
You tried to squeeze the life from me
Son of a bitch, I'm going to break you

"You taught me hate, I'll teach you fear"
That is quite possibly the most powerful lyric I've ever heard.

You can take the Bush intrepretation for face value or you could search deeper...

i agree with furious angel. the lyrics may seem like bullshit, as any high school pathetic poet trying to be dramatic would write...or it could mean something. and i love the line you taught me hate i'll teach you fear, open the eyes kill despair. you tried to squeeze the life from me son of a bitch i'm going to berak you. THAT is obvious what it means but the rest of the song, im clueless. its aesome though, lyrics and msuic.

I dunno if it is just the version I have or not, but where it says:

Frost on the breath of life
Empty of warmth or light
Full of nothing but deprivation
Eternal winter

in the lyrics I am pretty sure it says:

Frost on the breath of life
Empty of warmth or light
Full of nothing but deprivation
Frost on the breath of life
Empty of warmth or light
Caught in eternal winter

in the song. O.o

i think this song is about nuclear war. "eternal winter" that is nuclear term. "frost on the breath of life" is the word for killing people by trying to kill other things. or it could be like the nuclear radiation on ur lungs or somethin i dont no. thats the thing with lamb of god. there songs are like a story. this is a talented fucking band and i love the way they think. randy is awsome

This is clearly about being trapped in a framed prisoners mind, the things that travel through a prisoners head are usually revenge and hate. "You taught hate, I'll teach you fear.Open the eyes, kill despair. You tried to squeeze the life from me. Son of a bitch, I'm going to break you "

A framed prisoner spending time in prison for somthing they didnt do, the dark nights spent in a cell due to this persons selfishness. You taught me hate, Ill teach you fear. Son of a bitch I am going to break you!

Dont listen to the assholes that say it is about bush and people in denial for voting for him. This song has nothing to do with bush or any other political subject such as war.

Ok, search depper. Interperet how you want, but at least have a good explanation as to why you believe what you want. Mr. Fuck Bush, seriously.

In my opinion, this could be about a relationship. Possibly one of those ones where one pours their heart and soul into it, and the other pushes away, leaving the other empty inside. I don't need to go further, but that's what I think... just listen to this or read the lyrics and think about one of those relationships where you begin to hate the other because they wont take advice and they keep everything inside and wont let you in on aiding them. That's where I start to hate them, and threaten them that it can't go on any longer, hence, teaching them fear (You taught me hate, I'll teach you fear). That's just what I think... and the eternal winter thing is well, we all know winter can really suck and put one in a bad mood, and when a relationship just stays like that where one isn't interacting with the other as far as talking or being assertive, that can really put you down as well and then in the end begin to piss the fuck out of you.

This whole album is about politcal subject matter, whether abou Bush or not. Lamb of God have said so themselves.

i know that this albums "theme" is the war and politics, but that doesnt mean every song on the album is about that. i like george bush, and am for the war in iraq. but i dont see how you get bush and war out of these lyrics.

To me it sounds like an abusive childhood where the parent lies to the kid constantly and tortures him. The child grows up to realize the deception and returns to break the parent.

this song is about saddam hussein and bush. how saddam taught hate and was most likely shown fear while captive by the new iraq gov't and any rational, good american wouldve liked to do the same to bush. this song is not about relationships, global warming, or a frustrated child.
