Lyrics for Open Your Eyes as interpreted by judaskissidismiss

Open Your Eyes Lyrics
Looking back I clearly see
What it is that's killing me
Through the eyes of one I know
I see a vision once let go
I had it all

Constantly it burdens me
Hard to trust and can't believe
Lost the faith and lost the love
When the day is done

Chorus:
Will they open their eyes?
And realize we are one
On and on we stand alone
Until our day has come
When they open their eyes
And realize we are one

I love the way I feel today
But how I know the sun will fade
Darker days seem to be
What will always live in me
But still I run

It's hard to walk this path alone
Hard to know which way to go
Will I ever save this day?
Will it ever change?

Repeat Chorus

Still today we carry on
I know our day will come
When they open their eyes
And realize we are one

Will they open their eyes?
And realize we are one
(It's hard to walk this path alone
Hard to know which way to go)
Will they open their eyes?
And realize we are one
(Lost the faith and lost the love
When the day is done)
Will they open their eyes?
And realize we are one

Hey, hey...

An awesome song!

Will they open their eyes and realize we are one?
On and on we stand alone until our day has come
When they open their eyes and realize we are one?

This is a song about coming to know that you are not alone in this world and that someone will be with you every step of the way. All you have to do is open your eyes and see that someone is there waiting for you.

I agree completely with sting06. This song is about keeping the faith in friends and always knowing that you can trust someone.

Love It! plain and simple. and it's sick how the band members are from Creed. woo! i totally think sting06 is right with that, you need to know that they are always going to be 'friends' that come and go, but there will always be those certain few who stick with you and let you know they're always there for you.. i dedicate this song to my field hockey girls. i love you guys!

I'm thinking the song is speaking out against war. We need to realize that as humans, we're all one and the same, and we need to stop trying to wipe out people whom we deem 'different' from us

Shits on Creed. At last Tremonti has some control over what he gets to play. It's about realising that your past and present lives may be different, but basically you are still the same person so it's no good running away from your past.

For those who are familiar with the christian religion, then this song should have significant meaning to you. i believe this song is totally about "the mission" (the missiohn to unite everyone under christs love and bring christ into all their hearts). when it saysWill they open their eyes?
And realize we are one
On and on we stand alone
Until our day has come
When they open their eyes
And realize we are one

he wnants everyone to see that christ is the way to heaven and eternal joy and life. and that christians will stand alone in this world fighting until the rapture.

love the way I feel today
But how I know the sun will fade
Darker days seem to be
What will always live in me
But still I run

he knows the christians are fighting a losing battle and the world is constanly leaving its mark on him

Still today we carry on
I know our day will come
When they open their eyes
And realize we are one

he doesnt give up hope and he knows he will see everybody forgiven and redeemed

It's hard to walk this path alone
Hard to know which way to go
Will I ever save this day?
Will it ever change

my favorite lyrics in the song, hes frustrated and he sees no way to get the message of christ to the people

these are mainly what i wanted to show u can apply the whole theory to the entire song, also, when myles is just vocalizing wothout any words it is also symbolic of that because in my experiance whenever christians are reaching out to go they sometimes express themselves with their voice but use no words. I belive most creed and alterbridge songs have alternate christian meanings, thats what makes them both rule, theres something in their songs for everyone, and I found this song spiritually inspiring.

well if you blevive that God is part of every thing than it can still be about IT. Just because your meaning to a song is different than the writers does not make it any less wrong.

thats true oneye-2, although i still like to know whats going through the writer's head, but it is important for songs to have personal meanings for you because of your individual experiances.

I can't find anything wrong with this song whatsoever! It's one of the most amazing tracks i've ever heard! Listening to that solo too, it inspired me as a guitarist to up my game to learn it, play it, perfect it... The vocals too, they just melt me when I hear them, Myles has got an amazing voice!
The religious side of the song, I reckon can be interpretted into any faith, whether it's Christian, Jewish, Pagan, whatever, it all fits, It's just however we interpret it for our own faith (mine being Wiccan) or if you have no faith, then I guess it's interpretted however you feel it interprets to you. No doubt about it, AWESOME song!

Mark Tremonti rumor: After hearing this song and his solo, I'm guessing Mark Tremonti had his hands replaces with mechanical ones. Either that, or it's just pure bone, flesh and blood mixed with skill and years of training. Mark Tremonti is one of the few that can be considered the greatest guitarists ever (alongside Tom Morello)
