Lyrics for Now You've Got Something To Die For as interpreted by jc6md

Now You've Got Something To Die For Lyrics
Now you've got something to die for
Now you've got something to die for
Infidel, imperial
Lust for blood, a blind crusade
Apocalyptic, we count the days

Bombs to set the people free, blood to feed the dollar tree
Flags for coffins on the screen, oil for the machine
Army of liberation, gunpoint indoctrination
The fires of sedition
Fulfill the prophecy

Now you've got something to die for
Now you've got something to die for

Send the children to the fire, sons and daughters stack the pyre
Stoke the flame of the empire, live to lie another day
Face of hypocrasy, raping democracy
Apocalyptic, we count the days

We'll never get out of this hole
Until we've dug our own grave
And drug the rest down with us
The burning home of the brave
Burn.

Now you've got something to die for
Now you've got something to die for

More then just the war in Iraq, but the US government.
"Infidel, imperial" What we're seen as. There so much the lyrics can relate to, but im only going to pick a few more things.

"We'll never get out of this hole
Until we've dug our own grave" The government now, fucking it self of and pissing the public off.

"Army of liberation, gunpoint indoctrination " what we did, Liberating the people and choosing there government and how they're going to run things.

okay, one more thing.
"The fires of sedition
Fulfill the prophecy "

What we're doing IS predicted in the Christian Religion. The explination of this is, the US will not be the the ultimate ruling nation when the end comes, it will be some country in the "middle" as its described, and the nation screwing itself over and rebuilding Iraq, is actually full filling a prophecy....

But I'm just a big fan so i could be wrong....

i agree partly with stonerpimp...talking about how the US will throw away lives like nothing to gain controll...how we will sacrifice ne life to get more land or to destroy a threat...How the US government has no docrine and are "imfidel" that they dont care...they licked power...and now they thurst for more

I think that what stonerpmp said was right. I think in this song Randy basically sums up what he thinks the government is at war for.

"Bombs to set the people free, blood to feed the dollar tree
Flags for coffins on the screen, oil for the machine
Army of liberation, gunpoint indoctrination
The fires of sedition
Fulfill the prophecy "
-That whole paragraph basically says we are in this war to get the oil from the middle east to make the US wealthier and more powerful.

I heard this song for the first time in concert at the subliminal verses tour, AWSOME!!!

It is about the war in Iraq and how the government is causing all our troops to die because they want oil and to raise the gass prices!

Killadelphia is pretty cool.
I met Randy a few weeks ago and he is a cool guy, but it is still really funny, watching him get knocked out.
The funniest bit is the part where they hire a prostitute.

It's about the government/capitolists fucking us in the ass once again.

Bombs to set the people free, blood to feed the dollar tree Bombing these people to set them free as the americans do blood as in blood in war feeding the dollar tree feeding capitolism america is a big business all about war, bombs tanks guns all cost money

Send the children to the fire, sons and daughters stack the pyre
Stoke the flame of the empire, live to lie another day
Face of hypocrasy, raping democracy
We ar sending our childeren to stack and light the fire basically wasting there lives for the empire (usa)
They are claiming to take these actions for political freedom... democracy for these nations but they have alterior motives... hypocrites

We'll never get out of this hole
Until we've dug our own grave
And drug the rest down with us
The burning home of the brave
Burn.

Basically they need to destroy everybody to destroy themselves The home of the brave (usa) must burn to do this
BURN!!!

Actually, I think there's more to it than what ya'll have said. The name o the song gives it away.

Just try and follow me if you can.

Ok, the US Government is in Iraq and they claim they're trying to kill terrorists, destroy a dictator, make the world free for Democracy, whatever you want to say. The government is sitting here like " Hey, we're not doing anything, we're guilty of nothing."

This song is Randy or whatever his name is trying to say, hey you guys are fucking up and this is what your doing. I exposed it to the American people and Now You've Got Something To Die For, something to lose, if you wish.

I think everybody here is totally correct about this song's meaning, concerning Republican foreign policy in Iraq. All the lyrics fit in perfectly with the the Bush administration's hipocrisy in the middle east.

But I think everyone's missing half of the song. LoG wrote a song about both the Bush administration, as well as extremist muslim terrorists, who all "have something to die for".
consider the following:
another name for terrorists: "freedom Fighters"
LoG lyrics: "Army of liberation", "bombs to set the people free"

Terrorists have power most of the time merely because of their ability to use force (much like the US)
LoG lyrics: "Gunpoint Indoctrination", "bombs to set the people free"

Both sides (US and terrorists) are fighting each other on the same grounds: freedom of their people.
LoG lyrics: "face of hipocrisy"

and all these lyrics can be applied to both sides of the conflict...
this is why I LOVE LAMB OF GOD.

usually i dont like political stuff, but this song is unbelievable. as with many bands, lamb of god is so much better live. so much more feirce. this song is my therapy. you can hear all the rage and hatred in randys voice. the killadelphia version is by far one of their best songs.
