Thought I ran into you down on the street
Then it turned out to only be a dream
I made a point to burn all of the photographs
She went away and then I took a different path
I remember the face
But I can't recall the name
Now I wonder how whatsername has been
Seems that she disappeared without a trace
Did she ever marry old what's his face
I made a point to burn all of the photographs
She went away and then I took a different path
I remember the face
But I can't recall the name
Now I wonder how whatsername has been
Remember, whatever
It seems like forever ago
Remember, whatever
It seems like forever ago
The regrets are useless in my mind
She's in my head
I must confess
The regrets are useless in my mind
She's in my head
So long ago
And in the darkest night
If my memory serves me right
I'll never turn back time
Forgetting you, but not the time
Then it turned out to only be a dream
I made a point to burn all of the photographs
She went away and then I took a different path
I remember the face
But I can't recall the name
Now I wonder how whatsername has been
Seems that she disappeared without a trace
Did she ever marry old what's his face
I made a point to burn all of the photographs
She went away and then I took a different path
I remember the face
But I can't recall the name
Now I wonder how whatsername has been
Remember, whatever
It seems like forever ago
Remember, whatever
It seems like forever ago
The regrets are useless in my mind
She's in my head
I must confess
The regrets are useless in my mind
She's in my head
So long ago
And in the darkest night
If my memory serves me right
I'll never turn back time
Forgetting you, but not the time

This song does have a meaning to it. It's the last song on the American Idiot album. It's about Jesus remembering the girl he used to love and that he can see her right in front of him. However he can't remember he name.
"I made a point to burn all of the photographs"
This line shows that he still loves Whatsername even though she left him. He tried to get rid of her but in the end she always comes back to his mind.
Very awesome song =]
It's not a very nice song. It's cold. I guess it's about never forgetting certain times in ones life (times that left a huge mark), but the person attributed to those times fades from memory. It's col*d, but the band's very good. (I am so sick...just about go to the hospital sick, but I still wouldn't forget someone special ever.)
