She's an extraordinary girl
In an ordinary world
And she can't seem to get away

He lacks the courage in his mind
Like a child left behind
Like a pet left in the rain

She's all alone again
Wiping the tears from her eyes
Some days he feels like dying
She gets so sick of crying

She sees the mirror of herself
And image she wants to sell
To anyone willing to buy

He steals the image in her kiss
From her hearts apocalypse
From the one called what's her name

She's all alone again
Wiping the tears from her eyes
Some days she feels like dying
She gets so sick of crying

She's all alone again
Wiping the tears from her eyes
Some days she feels like dying
Some days she's not worth trying
Now that they're both up on it
She gets so sick of crying

She's an extraordinary girl
An extraordinary girl
An extraordinary girl
An extraordinary girl

She lives by her own rules by what she believes even though society differs. No one understands her. She wants to die, get away frome verything because to every one else she's always wrong. This guy has fallen in love with her, and tried to understand her. He tried but they seem to get no where. Finally they both realize life isnt what it seems so they try to get by with each others help.

whatsername is tied down to the town, "she can't seem to get away" she makes her money buy selling her self, jimmy is trying to show her that she's better than that, but at the same time he's getting what he wants, her love. it's a friends with benefits kind of thing too, jimmy can do without her because he moves on, but at the time they rely on each other to survive living in the town.

when it says "like a child left behind" i think billie joe is taking a stab at bush's "no child left behind" plan and saying how it's really not true

two things: what's up with the pseudo-jungle drums at the beginning? and i for one think that this song would've been huge in 1994/5. It just has that feel to it.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
