don't know if this is a remotely close to correct interpretation, but for me it symbolized the end of anything painful. And moving past it. And accepting what is and moving on. I listened to this fucker over 50 times in the week after my girlfriend dumped me... its about stuff like that. just get past it and move on, no matter how much it hurts." Ex-fucking-actly. To me this song is about getting over things and being a stronger person coming out of it. Whether it be being reborn as an atheist, or getting over your ex.

i think thi song MIGHT be about a suicide.. absorb yourself, destroy yourself... or maybe it's about a murder.. bleaching out stains from a wall.. then being afraid of being discovered so kill yourself..

ya im kinda speechless to the comment made by holymetalhead.. dude... seriously we know you are christian but i don't think randy's exposing the truth about his religion.... if he's catholic, christian whatever, well then he is, if he's not well then he's not... plus why would a guy like him waste his time writing songs about god?

ok i am a christian and i believe there NO way randy blithe is christian
and i don't think lamb of god is a christian band neither a satanic one..
now i enjoy lamb of god and i think they are truly talented and one of or probably the best metal band there is out there, so i hope we can just lay religion aside and enjoy LOG, i've read other posts from song of ashes and it's always the same, holymetal lays his weird idea saying lamb of god is christian band and everyone gets pissed of, so chill out ignore this coments haha,
I hope next record gets more guitar solos, one on this song and on omerta would be awesome, this guys are the best...

Lamb Of God is the number one metal band out there...New Wave American Metal is amazing...I love it! They were so badass in concert...they are just amazing...Chris Adler is the best drummer out there right now...if you don't believe me then pick up their DVD and watch him play the song ruin slowly and then try it yourself...they have the best all round band out there right now.

whoah whoa whoa im not comparing Blythe to manson or taylor, MM and slpiknot... suck AND marilyn Manson is not catholic, he was born and raised Catholic but in his Autobiography (The long hard road out of hell) he talks about disowning faith and becoming satanist, but he doesnt worship the devil he really talks about his religion (or lack of) read the book its actually good

i think its about someone doing something they regret, and randy (i think he wrote it...duno?) represents the continious reminder...you did it...and the guilt that drives them insane and further from denail till finally accepting it, and realizeing U DONT DESERVE 2 LIVE for doing what u did..whatever it is. meh. my guess is as good as yours. some im sure of, but not this one though.

Cool song, this is one of the only death metal band I could stand to listen to. Well, in the video for it than it's one guy chasing another guy, I don't know if that has anything to do with the meaning.

IT DONT FUCKIN MATTER WHAT THE RELIGION IS!! LOG is the fucking SHIT! And I say Randy is a great vocalist along with Corey, Chad and others. And...the way I see it, these dudes are pretty mainstream. Everytime I turn it to Fuse, if Uranium is on, Lamb of God is playing.

i believe this song is about saving urself from the lies of religion. in order to see what it means you have to put in your mind that religion is evil, particularly christianity. i know you people probably get pissed off because you think LOG isnt about religion. but look at theyre fucking name, i mean lamb of god? i think its mocking jesus in a way because theyre preaching against religion and are the metal saviors in a way, theyre trying to save people from taking up religion or if they already had to eradicate your beliefs. there is no fucking way that lamb of god are religious, to me they are obviously free thinkers and hate religion. to say they dont write music about religion is stupid because they have a religious name, but not in a good way if your religious yourself. personally i absolutely cannot stand religion, all it is is a bunch of lies they feed to you be good on this planet. im not even gonna get into it because this isnt about religion its about lamb of god. now if some of you people get pissed off or something because you love lamb of god and the fact that i think they have anti-relgious lyrics offends you in some way, then grow the fuck up and take in what other people have to say dont bash them for it. its my oppinion but dont get pissed off like a little girl because of it.
