Lyrics for Bon Idée as interpreted by anna118k

Bon Idée Lyrics
Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love
Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love

Don’t tell your secrets to anyone
Because ideas are vulnerable
As soon as you say your idea out loud
Then it can go and live on its own
And you will miss it oh so much
And you will wait for it’s return
And you will wish it were your own
But ideas that left never come back home

Don’t tell your mother that you are afraid
Don’t tell your lover that your heart might break
Don’t tell your gods you no longer believe
Because as soon as you say it out loud they will leave you
And you will miss them oh so bad
And you will wait for their return
And you will wish they were your own
But gods that have left you will never grace your home

Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love
Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love

Don’t tell your secrets to anyone
Because ideas are vulnerable
As soon as you say your ideas out loud
Then they can go and live on their own without you
And you will miss them oh so bad
And you will wait for their return
And you will wish they were your own
But ideas that left will never come back home

This song is so beautiful. I think it's true that when you say something you think out loud, the meaning becomes less and less than the original ideal it held in your mind and heart. And you can never tell others your pessimism, or else it will plant a seed in that relationship and grow into something much larger than you intended.

Regina has a great way of putting into words and putting music for the words that I cannot think of.

This is such a pretty song, and it's so true to every human relationship on this world, about how sometimes if you ever tell someone what you REALLY feel, that feeling will be mocked, chastised, or ridiculed and you will never feel the same again.

this song is great because i think she's mocking us with it! think about it this way, lets say that your afraid to tell someone something because you don't want to be mocked or rediculised or whatnot, well then you will keep it inside and not tell anyone this great idea in your head and never ever end up making that great emotional song that makes you feel great! but some idea's of coarse don't coinside with everyone's happiness. try spreading your idea's and you will see that they will grow and they won't need you to live if you spread them honestly without fear.

To me this song is reminiscent of the book Siddhartha. Siddhartha disliked and mistrusted words because when an idea can't be put into words exactly the way you want it; it can come out wrong and be manipulated. Also, a major theme in Siddhartha was that love is the most important thing in the world, which explains the "Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love" parts in the beginning and end of the song.

I don't think it has to do with being ridiculed for one's ideas, because

these lines:
"Don’t tell your gods you no longer believe
Because as soon as you say it out loud they will leave you"

I find the lines to be true. I'm an atheist, and I've been one for about 5 going on 6 years. And it wasn't until about three years ago when in an off-hand remark gave it as a reason to my friend for not going to church that I actually believed it and felt it.

Anyhow, I agree with sairecafe's interpretation.

how much i love this girl !! its so impresive how she can say something so similar to this feelings i have inside of me :)
pleeeaaase Regina come to Valencia (spain) !!

I agree with s.ramon... in that everybody interprets everything they're own way, they bend things to turn it against you or for they’re own benefit… example: loopholes
But I also feel that the song also means that when you tell somebody an idea; whether its something miniscule like doing donuts on the freeway when its empty to something that can really help the world.
The idea is almost stolen from you. You’re almost robbed of it. It’s no longer YOUR idea. It’s everybody else’s also..
Like how you seem to find yourself using Regina quotes in your everyday life. I know I do, and its because she finds the perfect words to express how you feel.

it makes me think of people stealing the ideas of others.
for example, whenever i say a sarcastic joke under my breath, my friend will repeat it really loud and not give me credit for it. not that exactly, but it's the principle.
