Here I am, laid bare, at the end of my rope. I've lost all hope. So Long!
Molly Connolly just broke up with me over the revealing nature of the songs.
You goddamn kids had best be gracious with the merch money you spend
Because for you I won't ever have rough sex with Molly Connolly again.
Here I am, laid down, at the end of my rope, wishing I had not been born.
Now I've spewed too much. I can never shut it up. I thought you should be warned
And I implied black sky took the needle to my eye and sucked out all its glow,
But Molly Connolly ruined my life. I thought the world should know.
I can't stop thinking about what she did wrong to me.
I can't figure out just what I did wrong.
I'll kill myself thinking about the things that you did to me.
I'll kill myself! I'll kill myself! I'll kill myself

Max: *chuckle* She's, I mean, it's like a song about how a girl can affect a guy for the rest of his life. Just one girl can give you tons of problems, and just screw you up. But also it's from the point of view of being, how someone can mess with your life's work. It's also from the point of view of being in a band, or being any kind of artist. It's like you give up the ability to have an easy relationship when you live a certain life.
Alli: So was Molly Connelly a real girl? Or…?
Max: The name isn't real. But it's a few stories put together

Most of the rest of the album is filled with commentary on the music industry, and modern society. In that context, I think this song is a 'stab' at the "emo" scene, and how most songs' lyrical content revolves around the singer's current 20-something girlfriend.(coughDashboardcough)
"Molly Connolly just broke up with me over the revealing nature of the songs"
Some lines in the song seem a little too self-pitying for something I think Max would write un-sarcastically. He seems to be much more tasteful when writing about his pain (see Chia-like I shall grow)
"Kill myself thinking about..."
"Molly Connolly ruined my life..."
The bit about merch money is him speaking as the 'emo' singer, essentially saying "buy our shit, I'm giving you exactly what you want to hear, another break-up song"
Just my two cents. If Max says otherwise in interviews or the album booklet (lost mine years ago) so be it. I just always heard this song as a satire on the "emo" "scene" (yes I quoted those two words separately on purpose)
That's just my opinion.
I love quoting this fucking song :3
Max makes me feel happy inside <3
"i'll kill myself thinking about
the things that you did to me
molly connolly..."
It sounds like something follows it, at around 2:00. "Casey", or "Katie". That ties into the whole idea that the song was written about two different girls, mentioned by Rodger Dogder. That might be him addressing the the other girl.
had best be gracious with
the merch money you spend
because for you
i won?t ever have rough sex
with molly connolly again"
Seems like everyone is debating this line.
My interpretations is he is saying to all the fans that buy the merchandise that makes the band be gracious
with it because all that money and therefore fame, responsibilities, touring etc. that comes with it has
costed it him his relationship and it is their fault. But he isn't mad about it either.
Futhermore, the song is definately about his ex K.C. as he screams it in the middle of the song.
I really do love Max Bemis, he is undisputably a legend <333
