Lyrics for Every Man Has His Molly as interpreted by AllStarMe

Every Man Has His Molly Lyrics
here i am, laid bare
at the end of my rope
i’ve lost all hope, so long
molly connolly just broke up with me
over the revealing nature of the songs
you god damn kids
had best be gracious with
the merch money you spend
because for you
i won’t ever have rough sex
with molly connolly again

here i am, laid down
at the end of my rope
wishing i had not been born
now i’ve spewed too much
i can never shut it up
i thought you should be warned
and i implied black sky
took the needle to my eye
and sucked out all its glow
molly connolly ruined my life
i thought the world should know

i can’t stop thinking about
what she did wrong to me
i can’t figure out
just what i did wrong
i’ll kill myself thinking about
the things that you did to me
molly connolly

The brutal honesty of the character's lyrics (if you dont know this is a rock opera buy the damn cd please), are what makes him so popular, but also what costs him in his social life, yet he continues to do exactly what he has been doing to loose the girl, in this song. This one is pretty easy to figure out.

sorry i feel i should elaborate. this is such a hateful, spiteful and vindictive song, but it's so fucking catchy, and they know it. post prudiction handclaps, the hooky guitar riffs, the chorus, all of it. it's a pop ode to hate and spite and selfishness. it's so good!

Haha, it would be great to be broken up with "over the revealing nature of the song". Suffering for your art kicks ass.

He IS so pretentious. You fall madly in love with it without even knowing it.

And I *heart* the handclaps.

Am I the only one who think this song sounds like weezer early stuff (I mean blue / pinkerton era) ?

Even in the lyrics, even if Max goes more straight to the point...

every song in this album has a reference to a popular musical, this song is based on the unsinkable molly brown (1960).

I tend not to think of Molly Connoly as a girl, but as a record company who dropped SA because they wouldnt say what the label wanted them to.

The idea about the record lable seems right but i just wanted to add in the idea that the name Molly could have come from the 80's actress Molly Ringwald (16 Candles and Pretty in Pink). kind of a long shot but max talkes about her in another song (That's That) and they are named after the great 80's movie Say Anything. just wanted to put that out there.

this song intrigues me because the name he uses

i believe rock scissors probably has the true reason why molly was used but if anyone didnt know molly is slang for an mdma tab which is ecstacy

i know max claims hes only "smoked pot" but i believe this song could be about drug addiction where as in molly represents his addiction

i like that last idea. i think it's an amazing song because on the most straightforward level, he's saying that he's giving up molly because he can't afford her because of the profession he's in. he's telling the kids at a concert that they should buy more merch because he can't buy molly anymore which insinuates that molly is a hooker. he's saying he's giving her up because he'd rather be singing for the kids.

this is such an arrogant asshole song but max likes to slip in little sublities that show he's actually a nice guy. he kind of shows that he likes molly for more than the sex. every song makes me fall for max a little bit more, even though he's a complete asshole in most of the songs. but you just can't help it for someone who's this amazing and just... real. nothing stops him from speaking his mind.

I laugh every time.

and i think max is mocking the fact that so many "rockstar" guys write songs specifically about their girlfriends, and how this ruins the relationship. he's so damn cocky here, i love it.

"sheslikeohsoemo", WHAT? it's not saying she's a hooker, it's saying they'd better repay him for losing molly ortherwise it wouldn't be worth it. if it was insinuating she's a hooker it would say:

you god damn kids
had best be gracious with
the merch money you spend
because OTHERWISE
i won’t ever have rough sex
with molly connolly again

but it doesn't, does it.

I dont want to seem like an ass hole or anything but the song is called Every man has A molly. also i dont think the record label idea is really correct because not every man has a record deal!!! but i shouldt realy be critisizing your opinions, sorry, cool song by the way.
