Lyrics for Slowly, Through a Vector as interpreted by AllStarMe

Slowly, Through a Vector Lyrics
passing slowly though a vector
damp with fog the bog
that grows the former business sector
with my laugh, my lonely minion
only i can save the lives
that blink within this canyon

we're passing slow

drink the colors of the night time
if you were wrong
then i was right
and this will be the right time
i‘ll display my disaffection
(you brought me up
you spit me out)
out across the city
loud and proud in your direction

we're passing slow

when i get to your apartment
i climb the rail
outside the building
a band of them
were in your apartment
they tied you up
unwound, unwilling
i watch them cut
watch them touch
watch them do
what they came to do
and in i come
to lick it up
clean up what is left of you

ha ha ha
show me what you got

I love singing along to the "we're passing slow" part.
I think this song might be about having a fear of someone cheating on him with a person who could damage her.

I'm...insanely jealous, nikznnattie. The envy I'm feeling right now is eating a hole through the lining of my stomach.

*sigh*

Someone is assaulting a chick and it's not Max.

Alright, if we take a look at this from the "rock opera" perspective, I think this song is the character (Max Bemis), walking through an old abandoned city. A Vector is an organism that holds a disease. Its a very business and capitalism oriented city, and Max is there to tear it down with his words.

Other than that, I have no clue what the apartment part is about. Except maybe "a band of them" being the industry, and the person being a band, or the metaphor of bands trying to make it these days.

this song brings to mind, going with the rock opera theme again, the music industry ("you brought me up / you spit me out")

Ha, ha, ha, show me what you got---i agree, SO FUN to sing along to when i saw them live.

i dont think the song is about sex at all. i think 'crawl inside her' is a metaphor for getting inside her head. he plays mindgames and so does she (the line about playing games by the flies inside her brain). they both play mindgames but max is better. he is the spider she is the fly.

every time i hear this song it reminds me of a story i heard of a guy in the holoucaust, in one of the ghettos ,sneaking out of his house to go see a girl. maybe the 'band' of them in her apartment are the nazis in her house.

i think that the girl represents his happiness in the world and the assaulter represents the music indrustry and all people involed in it which kill and kidnap his happiness

Instead of "lonely minion" it's "lone companion."

I think this song is half about gaining popularity through outlets like MTV and Fuse, and the other half about rape.

okay,
i think this song is like, how leeko518 said, very much about government stuff.
and contrary to what thehappyhornist said, who obviously listens for sheer entertainment, Max Bemis said that most of his music is very very politically oriented. He uses symbolism and so on to get his point across.
right on, leeko.

the "ha ha ha show me what you got" seems like they're competing to see who can intimidate the other more, but they're both not really "showing what they got." hm.

well, i'd like to say that the part where it says
"my lonely minion"
is really lone companion
and where it says

(you brought me up
you spit me out)

it is really
"you grind up and you spit me out"

other than that, i do agree with most. my favorite part is the ha ha ha show me what yo ugot, especially when he goes from just talking it too shouting it.

I think the narrator is a generic disease. Could be aids, anger, alcoholism or anything that plagues mankind. The vector are some people.

In the first verse, the disease is traveling the streets of a city through a host of people.

In the second verse, the disease is picking out someone who tried to fight it off.

In the final verse, the disease infects someone through some rapists, robbers or through any malicious act.

This gives "vector" the double meaning of a "disease carrying parasite" such as a misquito, but also that we're all on an inevitable path to have our lives messed up.

"drink the colors of the night time" is seriously my favorite line. it says a lot with few words; it seems to bottle up a whole relationships emotions into one line. it could mean to drink in order to forget someone, drink because you're happy, etc. say anything FTW

i feel like this song is about a murder and the lyrics "haha show me what you got" is the killer(s) and a man fighting.
haha show me what you got, its like the man is saying, ok you think your so BA for killing this girl come on show-me-what-you-got im not scared,
and then the other haha show me what you got is the killers saying, oh you think your so BA talking back to us show-me-what-you-got. and so on like the rest of the song goes.
even though max sings the song i don't think he always sings about himself.
thats just my crazy idea

It's: "With my laugh, my lone companion." in the 3rd line. And it's definitely "bop" but "fuck" sounds better so I just say fuck..
