Jesus Of Suburbia Lyrics
[Part I: Jesus of Suburbia ]
I'm the son of rage and love The Jesus of suburbia From the bible of none of the above On a steady diet of Soda pop and Ritalin No one ever died for my sins in hell As far as I can tell At least the ones I got away with But there's nothing wrong with me This is how I'm supposed to be In a land of make believe That don't believe in me Get my television fix Sitting on my crucifix The living room of my private womb While the moms and Brads are away To fall in love and fall in debt To alcohol and cigarettes And Mary Jane to keep me insane And doing someone else's cocaine [Part II: City Of The Damned] At the center of the Earth In the parking lot Of the 7-11 were I was taught The motto was just a lie It says "home is were your heart is" But what a shame Cause everyone's heart Doesn't beat the same We're beating out of time City of the dead At the end of another lost highway Signs misleading to nowhere City of the damned Lost children with dirty faces today No one really seems to care I read the graffiti In the bathroom stall Like the holy scriptures of a shopping mall And so it seemed to confess It didn't say much But it only confirmed that The center of the earth Is the end of the world And I could really care less [Part III: I don't care] I don't care if you don't I don't care if you don't care [x5] Everyone is so full of shit Burn and raised by hipocrites Hearts recycled but never saved From the cradle to the grave We are the kids of war and peace From Anaheim to the middle east We are the stories and disciples Of the Jesus of Suburbia Land of make believe And it don't believe in me Land of make believe And I don't believe And I don't care! [Part IV: Dearly beloved] Dearly beloved are you listening? I can't remember a word that you were saying Are we demented or am I disturbed? The space that's in between insane and insecure Oh therapy, can you please fill the void? Am I retarded or am I just overjoyed? Nobody's perfect and I stand accused For lack of a better word, and that's my best excuse [Part V: Tales of another broken home] To live and not to breathe Is to die in tragedy To run, to run away To find what you believe And I leave behind This hurricane of fucking lies I lost my faith to this This town that don't exist So I run I run away To the light of masochists And I leave behind This hurricane of fucking lies And I walked this line A million and one fucking times But not this time I don't feel any shame I wont apologize When there ain't nowhere you can go Running away from pain When you've been victimized Tales from another broken home

Anywho.
Jesus of Suburbia;
I think this part of the song is about who he is. Where he's from. His /life/. "Rage and love" speaks of his parents. His father's rage and his mother's love. His creation. Who he is.
His life that's just... crappy. He wants out.
No one believes in him and he hates it.
City of the Damned;
"The center of the earth" is his hometown. (Jingletown) When it says "The center of the earth is the end of the world" it means that Jingletown is an ending. Whether it be of his spirit, himself, his views, whatever. It's the end.
Pretty much, if he stays there, he's damned.
I Don't Care;
He's fed up. He's tired of everyone's crap. He knows there's got to be something better somewhere, and he wants to find it. That's pretty much all I'm getting from that segment. ^^;
Dearly Beloved;
I think this part is about... He's trying to understand what he wants and where he is. He wants to know where he stands and he wants to know what's wrong with him. Everyone else gets on with life in Jingletown, so why can't he?
Tales From Another Broken Home;
He's done. Totally done.
He's living, but he's not really living. "To live and not to breathe is to die in tragedy". It won't end well if things keep up like this.
So, he "leaves behind this hurricane of fucking lies". His whole life has been one huge lie and he's fed up with it.
He's "walked this line one million and one fucking times, but not this time". His life has been the same thing, day after day, year after monotonous year. He's not going to walk that same line again.
He's leaving and he's not ashamed because that's all there is left for him to do.

Seriously, if we want to share our opinions, it's out choice.
You don't have to come her and patronize us about it.
It wastes your time and ours.
Kay, babe?

learns and even writes a song 9 mins 10 secs long I find it difficult to even get it to 3 mins!

It's about what the song's about. What it means. How well it's written.
Sure, it's pretty impressive when people can write songs 9, 18, 22 or however many minutes long anything else is, but really, that doesn't matter.
But, honestly, to me it matters what the song's about. How the message is conveyed. Now how freaking long the song is.
But, hey, maybe that's just me.
