Well, I see what you are saying there and it is sorta true. Though I found it more common for people to "support" Kerry simply because he wasn't Bush. I too wasnt happy with some of the anti bush people. They really werent pro Kerry, they were just anti bush and they were the worst thing that could have happened for Kerry. In the end they were associated with Kerry simply cause they werent voteing Bush and many people were turned towards Bush because of these jerks. Frankly like I said. I wanted people to vote because they actually care about ... I dont know... issues. I hated those people that voted Kerry simply cause he wasnt Bush about as much as those Evangelist types that voted Bush because he was a good christian. Damn it... vote on the issues . We may as well have voted on best tie. This election was proof that "supporters" can do more harm then good. I have to admit ... early on in the election when the democrats were still working on widdling down their canidates I was sorta like that. Anyone but Bush. But as people started dropping I started doing research on the canidates... and I was actually really happy with Kerry/Edwards. I read a few books. Heard arguments from both sides... talked to supporters of both sides... and like I said before... I got very little... stimulating comentary from Bush supporters. Though I did run into a few people I wish... werent supporting Kerry cause ... I personally knew of more then a dozen people that were put off Kerry because of a few lone assholes who'd rather be fanatic, sensationalistic and offensive then do anything usefull. One problem though was that some people were portrayed as anti american because they were anti Bush. And... some people take their hate to the wrong levels. The war for example: Something did need to be done. Bush did it wrong. Too many people in this country talk but dont think. Our problem is not america as a whole being... stupid or bad. Our problem is rooted at a FEW people in a seat of power. American's arent stupid... just some are ignorant... namely... the voters that voted on who they were told to or who was the best christan. Kerry or bush voters ... if they didnt look at the issues at hand and vote ... they are ignorant. If fell for "Kerry is anti american" Or "Bush is Hitler" ... maybe then they are a little stupid but mostly ignorant. Too many people want to mouth off but do they DO anything? If SO many people are mad at Bush... maybe they should do something about it. Instead we just get a few people now and then... so few at a time that they can be portrayed as lone left wing nuts. Anti americans. If enough people speak out... some one has to listen.... right?

If this song was written by a band from any other country than germany id be pissed but since germans are basically the only country that stay out of america im not. But i must say this song is anti-american? but we must be doing something right seeing how the blacks and asians and mexicans cant keep to their own countries, but i also must say, germany has tried to take over the world twice and was stopped by america.

I think the key point being missed here as this song really isnt about America, Bush, the war, etc... so much as it's a humorous look at globalizations' effect on the world.

The video really does the job of showing that. Numerous cultures all enjoying something American while Rammstein sing on the moon with the Earth as a backdrop, representing America's growing cultural influence upon the world.

"Santa Claus will come to Africa
and Mickey Mouse will stand in front of Paris" This is a perfect line to explain my point. As globalization spreads, which really is under the guidence of America, so too will our cultural influence. Eventually blurring the ethnic lines, making the world more American.

Now I'm not a big fan of globalization though I do see some points of it as being benificial for the future I do love how Rammstein takes this humorous approuch to it all. Would be rash to try and say that this song really is anti-anything.

Um, Germany did not try to take over the world twice. WWI was not an attempt to take over the world, they were actually forced into the war to uphold their part of the alliance with Austria-Hungary and in truth were reluctant to go to war because they knew that Russia (Soon to be the Soviet Union) would eventually be forced to join against them. (They were actually on good terms at the time, Russia was not a socialist regime yet as it was still a Czardom.)

And um, from what I have heard Germany is having many problems with people openly speaking of Nationalsozialismus which in English is National Socialism, a.k.a. Nazism. This is from what my step-sister has told me about the country and she just moved here to the U.S. about a year ago and still has Duel Citizenship for another year.

So as a couple people have already said, know what you are talking about before you speak.

As for this song, it is a great song. And as a few people have said it is about the Globalization of Americanism, with all its flaws. The American way of life is being forced by the American Corporations, and to some extent the people themselves (by either sheer disregard for how other people live or the belief that "our" way of life is better then theirs and they should have ours, I won't even go into religion here.) whether they want it or not.

I love this band, even though I find all over the place that they're anti-American. I'm American, ABC (American Born Chinese), perhaps that's why I grew up with a high lack of racism and being close-minded, maybe because my family was foreign. I'm open to pretty much everything.. except Satanists, I can't help but think that is crazy, can you?

I too hate Bush, he's making us all look like fools here. He's got us planted and stuck in Iraq now too. We want to leave Iraq, but we can't at the same time. This was all because he wanted a war. The thing I hate about America is crazy patriots. They think war is a must because it's an 'American' thing to do, and I'm sitting there going, "These insane things just came from one of my own people?... Holy shit, we... are idiots."

America cannot import too many foreign things, otherwise our own companies would go down from lack of business.

I don't blame you at all for making fun of our laws. Even we make fun of and hate our own laws. Don't go telling me that it's because we voted for them, though. The answer to that is half the people voted for it, the other half lost the vote. What can be done about that though? Either the law will come from one person, or a couple of people. Someone will always lose.

I find myself laughing at many American things, like their unwritten laws. One being, 'To be a cop means you can do as you wish.' A couple of cops shot a man dead on his wedding day, they even injured this man's friends and family. So far, nothing has happened to them. My friends and I were crossing the street, a police van turning a corner got impatient, turned a siren on at us, then proceeded to run us down, but we managed to jump back before they could. We were right in front of them, they still drove at us.

I'm an American, does that mean I am a homophobic, a racist, that I persecute for being different? Not at all, because those are all the things I hate, yet I am American. I get extremely pissed off when ignorant people call Germans Nazis. I get pissed off when people assume I'm a great mathematician because I am Chinese, but math is the subject I fail at most. I wish something about this would change, but what should we do?

I hate when I go to youTube to listen watch the video of Buck Dich: Live, and there are a group of people going, 'faggots.' Makes me wonder why the hell they wasted their time watching it. Then what pisses me off some more is when people defend Rammstein by calling that person, 'Fucken American.' So what's this supposed to mean? Say for example that you are German, and you love Rammstein. Along comes another German, who happens to be homophobic, and calls Rammstein faggots.

It's a good thing I'm not like the people who do that, I'll like Rammstein regardless of those more ignorant than they accuse others of being. I’m sorry for writing so much, and if I insulted you, I didn’t mean it. I just want you to see that we’re not all as you make us out to be. It’s true some of us are this way.

We have never started a war with someone we couldnt win against (smart). 2, Countries have tried we all know how that went. 3. I think these fucking Krauts are just pissed we own part of their country with our Air Force bases.

@Relle: This song does not blame the american's for slavery, and it's not even about that. it's just about the current situation.
i wont blame you for what your ancestors did, so you wont blame me for what mine did (i'm german btw.), cause none of us did do anything wrong.
but america is fighting a war right now, a war against the world, against me, and against its own folks.
and its even dangerous than nazi-deutschland (even though they wont hunt for juish people), since now we have complete new situation:
for the first time in history, a country is actually mighty enough to fuck the world, with lies - not weapons.
and noone will know what goes on until its too late, cause 90% will be busy watching stupid people tv, buying useless products, being told about terrifying terrorists/terror/terrorism (not considering that their government is smart and mighty enough to make them believe whatever they want them to) or being busy with not listening to the 10% of smart people.
