Lyrics for Amerika as interpreted by Shoot_Me

Amerika Lyrics
We're all living in Amerika
Amerika ist wunderbar
We're all living in Amerika
Amerika, Amerika

Wenn getanzt wird will ich führen
auch wenn ihr euch alleine dreht
Lasst euch ein wenig kontrollieren
Ich zeige euch wie es richtig geht
Wir bilden einen lieben Reigen
Die Freiheit spielt auf allen Geigen
Musik kommt aus dem Weißen Haus
und vor Paris steht Micky Maus

We're all living in Amerika
Amerika ist wunderbar
We're all living in Amerika
Amerika, Amerika

Ich kenne Schritte die sehr nützen
und werde euch vor Fehltritt schützen
Und wer nicht tanzen will am Schluss
weiß noch nicht dass er tanzen muss
Wir bilden einen lieben Reigen
Ich werde euch die Richtung zeigen
Nach Afrika kommt Santa Claus
und vor Paris steht Micky Maus

We're all living in Amerika
Amerika ist wunderbar
We're all living in Amerika
Amerika, Amerika

We're all living in Amerika
Coca-Cola, Wonderbra
We're all living in Amerika
Amerika, Amerika

This is not a love song
This is not a love song
I don't sing my mother tongue
No, this is not a love song

We're all living in Amerika
Amerika ist wunderbar
We're all living in Amerika
Amerika, Amerika

We're all living in Amerika
Coca-Cola, sometimes war
We're all living in Amerika
Amerika, Amerika

Americans, by all means convince yourselves that this song is about the spread of American culture. Convince yourself that your growth is positive. Convince yourself that this song is not Anti-American. I bet that makes you feel better at night, right?

Well stop right there. American growth is IRRITATING. Your way of life is NOT the best way of life. The world does NOT want to live like you. You are NOT perfect OR the best.

Have you any idea how annoying it is to sit back and watch TV, only to find crowds of Americans, protesting this, supporting that, being all patriotic... America has to be one of the most arrogant countries in the world.

I'd like to say that this was not true for all Americans. I would like to say that small percent of the population isn't keen on America's growth. But you know what? The number of these people are so small it's NEGLIGIBLE.

Stay put.

Rant over.

It's not our fault that your culture is adopting our culture.

We're arrogant because we kick ass. So there.

Do not say they are adopting our culture, they are not we are forcing it on them, and no america does not kick ass

Living here is nice, but we do not I repeat, DO NOT kick ass, germany and russia do so :p

Thankyou, Ladymage. I take back my statement that the number of Americans not supporting growth is negligible. Its a sigh of relief to see someone like you. :)

thanks, by the way I found a news story to back my claim up, some meditratina country was so ticked off about having a mcdonalds that they threw calimari (octopus in this case) at it hehe proving that not many are really adopting american stuff, we kinda forced it on them

This is an anti-americanism song. Hence the line, "this is not a love song." He's saying he's singing about how great it is to be "living in America" but he's showing his sarcasm through that line.

I'm fed up with German songs invading MY country!!!!

It's time German rock bands (Ramstein, Nena,...) understand we have had enough with them invading our radio stations and our culture.

I know that if I don't want to hear them... I should turn the radio off... but it's just nice to think that one day, I might be able to write a song about this pain I feel!

;-)

@guitarmegan: haha. oh my, that would've been funny ;)
@killabee: gotta live with it.. i was born in germany and i live here. i can imagine how fed up some germans are with the US (although i cant understand how it comes to it... see below).. they have such a big influence on nearly everything over here, it's starting to get ridiculous. i'm not anti-american, surely not, i just think that this song and the video, show how everybody's so focused on the US... so, i'm actually not blaming the US, i'm blaming the germans or whoever for being so obsessed with the american culture (although i should rather use another word than "blaming").

Please Americans read your names and find out in which countries your ancestors lived.
The Americans must stop to think that they have a culture
Spain, France or Germany have a culture but not the USA.
If you don't agree explain me the basic things of american culture.
But first explain what culture is !
Please Americans read a Micheal Moore book.

whomever said germany was a warmonger let\'s do some math

america is roughly 200 years old
it has been in 10 MAJOR wars (not including operation iraqi freedom)

divide 200 by 10 and you have 20

that would mean that america on average has a war every twenty years
think about it

Okay, I AM German. And I really dislike this song... I don't like the voices or the melody... How easy to wright an anti-american song like that. You don't have to be a great mind to have THAT idea. Over here pretty much everybody is agains the American government. (encluding me) it's just JES, WE KNOW, YOU DONT HAVE TO WRITE A SONG ABOUT IT!!

Landser, please lern that you absolutely CAN NOT say "explain me". Thank you. Such a typical German mistake. And why should America have no culture?

because america was supposed to be the free country where you could do what ever the fuck ya liked but you can't criticize the government or you will be thrown in jail and called a terrrorist. you can't be anything but christian or your spit on like some dog. had this country not have been spawned the world would be MUCH BETTER OFF there would not be as many technical advancements as there are today but i could live with that... had i evn been born. face it america is a failed attempt at perfection. think of it as frankenstein's monster. he created a monster from dead body parts (basically the pilgrims). then it came to life (colonies). he tried to control it and maybe even kill it (intolerable acts). it fought back (boston tea party, revolution, etc.). and eventually he was forced to run away.
yeah you may say "thanks for the histry lesson" or some shit. but i could care less cuz im not trying to prove a point i'm just presenting the facts as i see them
good day

Umm... i'm not really sure what to say... I think this song is actually about the globalization of American culture. I went to Germany in 2001 (Pre 9/11) and it is shockingly similar to the States. Almost all of their music is American music. On top of that, most of them speak English (it's a requirement in most schools). I think Rammstein might be upset at how Germany (and much of the world) is losing it's cultural heritage because of America. I would think that's why the world dislikes us.

I think that Europe also sees us coming dangerously close to being a military empire. I've noticed that many Americans have a "we don't give a fuck what the world thinks of us, we'll do what we want" attitude. The world views us as sort of a "jerk" of a country. No one wants to be around the asshole that doesn't care about anybody else, the one that wants things his/her way.

One more thing, i'm tired of people bitching about France. I realize that we saved them in WWI and WWII, but if it wasn't for France we would have never won our independence from Britain.

You think Germany is smilar to the USA. That's wrong. You can only lose your cultural heritage if your culture is dead.
But our culture culture isn't dead. There's only an influence of America but that's why we won't lose our culture. Translate the German word Kindergarten into English and you will see that not only America influence.

Lemme get this straight: America did not win WWII. Russia and the Allies did. All America did was drop two atomic bombs on Japan.

As to this song: ^_^. Love it.

I didn't mean to offend anybody, all i'm saying is that countries are becoming more and more Americanized. That CAN (not will) lead to different countries losing their cultural identity. Germany has totally [positively] influenced the United States (more than most Americans know), but now it seems that we're influencing (sometimes forcefully so) everyone else (often negatively)... That's what i think this song is about.

Hi all! I'm a foreing exchange student from Hungary! I have benn living here for more than 10 months. I like Rammstein and I also liked it before i came here! Anyways, I had a lot of occasion when people asked me that it is true or not that a lot of people over the sea hate Americans? Well, i gotta say yes. And when they asked me why, I was just thinkink. Actually I didn't know why. People over there think that this american infuence the american youth's fault! :) Kinda funny but I think this is what they think. I remember hearing my friends before sayig: "This is just another stupid american kid who doesn't know shit and thinks he is cool because he lives in america!" I probaby did aggreee with this statement before but not now. I made a lot of firends here and cahnged my mind. The american infuence is only the governments fault and nobody elses. One more thing: I think people envy the americans too. Why? Beacuse they have a lot better life than a lot of people overseas. They live good with less work too and it's not hard to make a good living. Although they are not as "smart" as european people they're really KIND and POLITE! This "not as smart" thing is true but it's not the students fault but the governments, or actually it's nobodys fault I think because if they can live without as much knowledge as the european people have that's good! I also like the education system, the GDPs and everything. The school was a big relief for me! :)

Yeah and one more thing: When did this entire americanization started? I know that in the early 1900's there were a lot of european immigrant coming to the US and I know that back in that time they didn't hate it. They came for the American Dream!
And one more: Why don't Asian people start to americanize? Or did they?
