There is no terror in my heart
Death is with us all
We suck him down with our first breath
And spit him out as we fall
There is no terror in my heart
No dread of the unknown
Desire for paradise to be
We love this on our own

I don't want you anywhere near me
I don't want you anywhere near me
Get your fucking world out of my head
I don't want you anywhere near me
I don't want you anywhere near me
Get your fucking world out of my head
I don't want your us or them
I don't need your us or them
I don't want your us or them
I don't need your us or them
Your us or them

I live in knowledge of real truth
And all my gods are great
The doleful can't of a bigot
Blinded by fear and hate
You live in knowledge of real truth?
The biggest lie I heard
How sick in your mind and your soul
To be scared of my voice and my words

You don't want me anywhere near you
You don't want me anywhere near you
Get my fucking head out of your world
You don't want me anywhere near you
You don't want me anywhere near you
Get my fucking head out of your world
I don't want your us or them
I don't need your us or them
I don't want your us or them
I don't need your us or them

The only way this ever ends is me!

General Comment:6 years with no comments on this cool song, fantastic for sound alone... I'm sure the political views are there in this song, but I can tell you this song, to me, is straightforward, about male-female relationships that happen sometimes. And men are the losers in these cases...

She's gorgeous, and we get her on our minds. She likes us too, but she's not reliable emotionally. She plays, she fluctuates emotionally... Then she makes us feel great, fantastic... And then she spends time on other things, and suddenly, we're not too important... But how can we stop wanting her, how can we stop wanting her... And so she becomes part of our daily mental routine...

And so her fucking world is my head. I can't get her fucking world out of my head. And there's some part of her that says no, that I should get my fucking mind out of her world...

Well written songs should be ambiguous so that many parts of life overlap...

General Comment:Seems to be a song attacking religion to me...quickly became one of my favorite Cure tunes when I first heard it on the album.

General Comment:i think it's about someone who's in a relationship, but the person they're with often chooses their friends/bad influences over them. the narrator tries to get the person their with away from these influences, but the person their with just doubts and criticizes them for it and believes their friends are right and the narrator is wrong.

You live in knowledge of real truth?
Oh the biggest lie I heard
How sick in your mind and soul
To be scared of my voice and my words

they claim they're scared of the narrator, but the person they should be afraid of is themselves and their friends/bad influences.

the narrator is fed up with this and is basically saying im sick of leaving our relationship up to the balance of us or them.

General Comment:Personally, I'd rather the Cure just stayed away from politics. This song is annoying (I like Smith's singing voice, not his shouting voice), and rather transparent. I really haven't liked the last few albums though.

General Comment:I thought this was a political song when I first heard it, but now I'm not so sure.

It seems a little deeper than that. Perhaps more a general comment on society, and the way we align ourselves along political, cultural and racial lines. Or perhaps unbridled misanthropy?

I like the comment above comparing this to Imagine :D might have something there!

General Comment:I think this is one of their more transparent songs, but "Bush and Blair" is oversimplifying a bit. The first part of the song is about governments that play on people's fears and their religious beliefs to justify invasion of our privacy and to control us. The second part of the song refers to Muslims and Christians who see themselves as the arbiters of justice. He mocks those who see his freedom of speech as a threat. We all die alone, without religion or country.

kind of a pissed off version of "Imagine"

General Comment:it's a political song, although the lyrics are very similar to those of The Kiss off KMKMKM

"get your fucking voice out of my head
    i never wanted this
i never wanted any of this
    i wish you were dead"
    -The Kiss

General Comment:Mortonium is right. In "The Kiss" it goes

    Get it out
    Get it out
Get your fucking voice out of my head

General Comment:Those saying it's about Bush/Blair are correct. I believe that is actually a fact ie. it as been confirmed somewhere by Robert Smith. It couldn't really be about anyone else anyway, could it? Especially for the time that the song was written/recorded/released. And Robert sounds so pissed off in this song, it's absolutely awesome. Of course, there are religious connotations too, and you could quite justifiably look at it in that way, but then Bush and Blair always try to drag god into their own crimes against humanity.
