Rosemary
Heaven restores you in life
You're coming with me
Through the aging, the fearing, the strife
It's the smiling on the package
It's the faces in the sand
It's the thought that holds you upwards
Embracing me with two hands
Right will take you places
Yeah maybe to the beach
When your friends they do come crying
Tell them now your pleasure's set up on slow-release
Hey wait
Great smile
Sensitive to faith, not denial
But hey whose on trial?
It took a life span with no cellmate
The long way back
Sandy, why can't we look the other way?
We speaks about travel
Yeah, we think about the land
We smart like all peoples
Feeling real tan
I can take you places
Do you need a new man?
Wipe the pollen from the faces
Make revision to a dream while you wait in the van
Hey wait
Great smile
Sensitive to faith, not denial
But hey whose on trial?
It took a life span with no cellmate
To find the long way back
Sandy, why can't we look the other way?
You're weightless, you are exotic
You need something for which to care
Sandy, why can't we look the other way?
Leave some shards under the belly
Lay some grease inside my hand
It's a sentimental jury
And the makings of a good plan
You've come to love me lightly
Yeah you've come to hold me tight
Is this motion ever lasting
Or do shudders pass in the night?
Rosemary
Oh heaven restores you in life
I spent a lifespan with no cellmate
The long way back
Sandy, why can't we look the other way?
You're weightless, semi-erotic
You need someone to take you there
Sandy, why can't we look the other way?
Why can't we just play the other game?
Why can't we just look the other way?
Heaven restores you in life
You're coming with me
Through the aging, the fearing, the strife
It's the smiling on the package
It's the faces in the sand
It's the thought that holds you upwards
Embracing me with two hands
Right will take you places
Yeah maybe to the beach

it says: Saying, 'Hey why can't we look the other way?'
so it has nothing to do with a lesbian love affair...
also somebody said that it's based on Rosemary West's confession...no it's not...Rosemary West never confessed...and always maintained her innocence...despite all the evidence against her. A blogger wrote the supposed confession as a ficticious work...to go along with song in 2009. "Look it up kids." Seriously, do your research before you state so-called facts. Lastly, Interpol has never said what the song is actually about...so all interpretations are fair game...I wish they would give us their interpretation...the first time I heard the song my friend said "Hey, I heard this really cool song with your name in it." I said "Really? What's it called?" and wondered what the song was really about ever since. I can see how the Rosemary West think can make some type of sense... she helped him rape and murder his victims...they were both sadistic and got off on it all... "When your friends they do come crying
Tell them now your pleasure's set up on slow-release" she never confessed...and always maintained that she was unaware of her husband's crimes...even though jurors visited the house and decided it was too small and that there was no way murder and torture could have gone unnoticed "Saying, 'Hey why can't we just look the other way?' also "Sensitive to faith, not denial, But Hey who's on trial?" Also read somebody's post about the song being about a girl who's emotionally unavailable afer being alone for so long "Lifespan with no cellmate"...mayber referring to ball and chain...marriage and jail are synonymous :P Last thing...maybe it's about taking a girl's virginity...a girl who wants to wait till marriage...she wants to in the moment...but also believes it would b a sin=evil?...be about a dude trying to persuade her "Sensitive to faith, not denial"..."I can take you places...do u need a new man?"..."wipe the pollen from the faces" sexual reference wiping cum from the face?"..."make revision to a dream while you wait in the van"...dreams of being married before being deflowered lol? maybe that's a long shot.
Rosemary, heaven restores you in life

Embracing me with two hands

Great smile
Sensitive to fate, not
Denial
But, hey, who's on trial?
It took a life span with no cellmate
The long way back
Sandy, why can't we look the other way?
We speaks about travel
Yeah, we think about the land
We smart like all peoples
Feeling real tan
I could take you places
Do you need a new man?
Wipe the pollen from the faces
Make revision to a dream while you wait in the van
It took a life span with no cellmate
To find the long way back
Sandy, why can't we look the other way?
You're weightless; you are exotic

Sandy, why can't we look the other way?
Leave some shards under the belly
Lay some grease inside my hand
It's a sentimental jury
And the makings of a good plan
You've come to love me lightly
Yeah, you come to hold me tight
Is this motion everlasting
Or do shudders pass in the night?
Rosemary, oh, heaven restores you in life
It spent a life span with no cellmate
The long way back
Sandy, why can't we look the other way?
You're weightless, semi-erotic
You need someone to take you there
Sandy, why can't we look the other way?
Why can't we just play the other game?
Why can't we just look the other way?
But of course the video throws in a severely traumatic event into the situation, but the scent of the Rosemary herb, through the ages, by so many, is with you and all who were ever born and not alive today.
Then, I think the song addresses the superficiality of some of life( when traumatic things aren't occurring)
Thinking lifts you upwards(less superficial) then the hands of superficiality get a grip of you and start pulling you back in (al pacino).
No? Maybe it is about masturbation and he needs two hands for it(they never said there would be boasting)
(Grease in the hand of the lonely man, shards in the belly of the lonely nonpregnated woman)
wipe the pollen from the faces? Wow, wipe a sex secretion from a face? I think they are hiding jokes in their songs here.
And the makings of a good plan" .
