Lyrics for Give 'Em Hell Kid as interpreted by autumns_gone

Give 'Em Hell Kid Lyrics
Oh baby here comes the sound!
I took a train outta New Orleans and they shot me full of ephedrine.
This is how we like to do it in the murder scene.
Can we settle up the score?

If you were here,
I'd never have a fear.
So go on live your life.
But I miss you more than I did yesterday.
(You're beautiful.)

Well I'm a total wreck and almost every day.
Like the firing squad or the mess you made.
Well don't I look pretty walking down the street.
In the best damn dress I own?

If you were here,
I'd never have a fear.
So go on live your life.
But I miss you more than I did yesterday.
You’re so far away.
So c’mon show me how.
‘Cause I mean this more than words can ever say.

We are, made from the sharpest things you’d say.
We are young and we don't care.
Your dreams and your hopeless hair.
We never wanted it to be this way.
For all our lives.
Do you care at all?

If you were here,
I'd never have a fear.
So go on live your life.
But I miss you more than I did yesterday.
You’re so far away.
So c’mon show me how.
‘Cause I mean this more than words can ever say.

The part of this one that always gets me is the second extended chorus, with "you're so far away, so c'mon show me how, cuz I mean this more than words could ever say!" I was listening to this with my girlfriend the last time I saw her before I left for college and we both almost started crying on that line.

As I was reading the lyrics, I got the feeling that this song is about a loved one suddenly being absent from his life and him going on an insane killing sprea to take out all his emotions.

the abortion thing definaltly fits into this song and gerard likes to use metaphors a lot so the whole dress thing makes a little more sense i guess

When Gerard sings "We are young and we don't care" it really sounds like he says "We aren't young" But that's just what i hear

This song is about UNWANTED teenage pregnancy.

I realized this after my best friend became pregnant.

someone made a point of it being the 'far east sqad' not the firing squad and if thats true it could imply tht the girl is about to have a baby and the guy is in the army and she doesnt want to raise a baby by herself
'yourr so far away'
'but i miss u more than i did yesterday'

idk
i think the abortion thing makes sense too

well i think its about not only teen pregancy but aboration.
"murder scene" ? killing the baby and then pretty much this whole verse as the unborn baby's POV
"If you were here,
I'd never have a fear.
So go on live your life.
But I miss you more than I did yesterday.'
oh and this line
'Well I'm a total wreck'
poeple who have abortions have emotional problems after most of the time.

and then
'We are young and we don't care.'
they were young and made the mistake of getting pregnant and they didnt really care about the baby, having no problem killing it.

this is just what i think and im not trying to start and anit-abortion revelutions, this just makes sense to me.

this has to be my favourite MCR at the moment. I love the chorus and the most meaningful line is "and i miss you more than i did yesterday"

There seems to be much controversy as to what the "Your dreams and your hopeless hair." may be/is about.

I think, since the song is mostly, if not totally, believed to be about Teen Pregnancy or Abortion, I think he (The male charachter in this song) is mocking her. Because the female sex is nutoriously known for being obsessed with how their hair and clothes look. ("Well don't I look pretty walking down the street in the best damn dress I own?") and he is basicly saying, "Look. After this, you'll never feel good about yourself again."

That's just me.

And the "What you call me? Well, there's no WAY I'M KISSING THAT GUY." is a hint that they might have gotten drunk and something went on while they were drunk. She finaly got sober and realized what was going on. Then she was disgusted with herself. Even more so after she found out she was pregnant.

But that's just me.
Hope I influenced some thoughts.
Hope I share the thoughts.

- A Fellow Demolition Lover, Lexx.

i think this song is based off the bonnie and clyde story. three cheers and bullets are concept albums about these two outlaws that are in love.

"I took a train outta New Orleans and they shot me full of ephedrine"
Ephedrine is a drug. Drugs kill. Bullets kill. Bonnie and Clyde were gunned down in Louisiana

"This is how we like to do it in the murder scene."
Bonnie and Clyde's life was a murder scene

"Well I'm a total wreck and almost every day.
Like the firing squad or the mess you made"
When the firing squad shot Bonnie and Clyde down, they fired more than enough bullets to kill them, making the car they were in a total wreck

"We are young and we don't care."
Bonnie and Clyde=They were in their 20's and were in love, not caring about what anyone said.

Also, Demolition Lovers was based off Bonnie and Clyde so maybe the characters in the concept albums are based off them

at the end of my version it says
"just cause you're bigger than me, just cause you're better than me, just because you drive a better car than me, that does not mean, no way no how, i am sucking you off for any amount of money"
weird.
i really like this song, it's probably my favorite on the album.

This song is most definitely about teenage pregnancy.

"I took a train outta New Orleans
and they shot me full of ephedrine.
This is how we like to do it in the murder scene"

...... ephedrine is a drug used as a diet pill and bronchodilator and when it is taken in excess, it can kill a woman's baby. I'm guessing she either had an actual abortion, killed her baby on purpose with her drug, or definitely thought about it.

"If you were here,
I'd never have a fear.
So go on live your life.
But I miss you more than I did yesterday."

..... basically, the guy left. She wants him to live his life normally, but she still misses him like hell.

"(you're beautiful!)"

..... she's remembering what the guy told her. He tells her she's beautiful, and it's probably an empty statement and she knows it, but she can't help but love and miss him.

"Well I'm a total wreck and almost every day.
Like the firing squad or the mess you made."

...... she's saying that because she's pregnant, she's a total wreck like "the mess you [the guy she's talking to] made"- the mess is getting her knocked up.

"Well don't I look pretty walking down the street
in the best damn dress I own?"

...... she's probably saying here that she can no longer fit in her best dresses, that she's so broke from the baby needing care that she can't afford a nice one, or that because she (a)either had an abortion or (b) killed her child with an overdose of ephedrine, so she still is thin and as pretty as she was before this whole mess.

"We are made from the sharpest things you say.
We are young and we don't care.
Your dreams and your hopeless hair.
We never wanted it to be this way.
For all our lives.
Do you care at all?"

..... She's saying that they're both young and that if they had the baby, they would have to give up their dreams and their childish worries like "your hopeless hair." Neither of them wanted her to become pregnant. Now that the guy left, she's doubting he even cares.

Just wanted to add my theories.

Cheers! ~ just_another_cog

ok. teenage pregnancy. i'm sure everybody knows thats what its about. but also abortion, hence "the murder scene"
and people wonder why its on a concept album about murder. abortion is murder, so therefore, it fits.
get what i'm saying?
=]
amazing song by the way. my favorite of them all

yap it's about teenage pregnancy :). you know it said " Like the firing squad or the mess you made.
Well don't I look pretty walking down the street." "we are young and we don't care" " do you care at all?" it means that teenagers don't really care if this can happen, and about i think it's just because of the girl's belly. just my opinion.
