Lyrics for Give 'Em Hell Kid as interpreted by autumns_gone

Give 'Em Hell Kid Lyrics
Oh baby here comes the sound!
I took a train outta New Orleans and they shot me full of ephedrine.
This is how we like to do it in the murder scene.
Can we settle up the score?

If you were here,
I'd never have a fear.
So go on live your life.
But I miss you more than I did yesterday.
(You're beautiful.)

Well I'm a total wreck and almost every day.
Like the firing squad or the mess you made.
Well don't I look pretty walking down the street.
In the best damn dress I own?

If you were here,
I'd never have a fear.
So go on live your life.
But I miss you more than I did yesterday.
You’re so far away.
So c’mon show me how.
‘Cause I mean this more than words can ever say.

We are, made from the sharpest things you’d say.
We are young and we don't care.
Your dreams and your hopeless hair.
We never wanted it to be this way.
For all our lives.
Do you care at all?

If you were here,
I'd never have a fear.
So go on live your life.
But I miss you more than I did yesterday.
You’re so far away.
So c’mon show me how.
‘Cause I mean this more than words can ever say.

Pitchfork Red, when did you see them in concert? Most of what Gerard says when he's on stage shouldn't be taken literally. He was wasted for almost every show this summer on the Warped Tour. He's recently cleaned up. He likes to make shit up a lot too. LoL I love him for it.

Great song, great album.

Thanks MajinCloud, I'm glad that we finally have G's best friend dropping in for insights on here. It's about time that someone who followed him around all summer is finally speaking up.

i went to mcr's show and he said this song is about teenage pregnancy...so i guess wen he says its about the day he was born he means that his parents were teens.

I saw My Chemical Romance at Buzzfest in Houston on Halloween and Gerard said that the song was about "getting knocked the fuck up....not getting beat up. Putting a baby up in there, putting a baby right up in there...."

I thought at the end he said 'What you told me...well there's no way I can forget that...'

I interpreted this, straight off, as being in love with somebody who has broken up with you, and being torn between wanting them to be happy - 'so go on live your life', but wanting them to be happy with you 'I miss you more than I did yesterday'.

at the end of the song, he says "(won't you tell me)(well, there's no way i'm kissing that guy)", im positive and in my POV this song means that a loved one was taken out of his life.. "if you were here id never have a fear"

i don't get it...is he gay, or bi? or, maybe he's talking from the girl's point of view and she's saying "there's no way i'm kissing that guy" which could mean she don't wanna kiss gerard. what the hell is wrong with her?

I think that pretty much everyone song off tcfsr is a mix of concept and real experiences.

Look at it from the concept album p.o.v and its obviously about how much he misses the girl now shes dead...

then mixed with some of his own feelings and exepiences and I think its about how a girl has gone away, and left him behind.
He's pissed off with her so he says things mocking her like...
"Well don't I look pretty walking down the street.
In the best damn dress I own?"

I think he's also upset that shes gone and truly miss's her wishing she was back but realises that she needs to do her thing and doesnt want to hold her back.

I just read the comment about it possibly being about teenage pregnancy, and it definately does work:
"Oh baby here comes the sound!
I took a train outta New Orleans and they shot me full of ephedrine.
This is how we like to do it in the murder scene.
Can we settle up the score?"
She took the train to get an abortion. Ephedrine is a drug, referring to the hospital. A lot of people say that abortion as murder. ("This is how we like to do it in the murder scene")

"If you were here,
I'd never have a fear.
So go on live your life.
But I miss you more than I did yesterday.
(You're beautiful.)"
She still has feelings for the guy, or this could even be the guy talking to her. The girl could be scared to have the abortion because she's going to get it alone, or the guy could be thinking about her because she decided she didn't want the baby.

"Well I'm a total wreck and almost every day.
Like the firing squad or the mess you made.
Well don't I look pretty walking down the street.
In the best damn dress I own? "
Guilt over the abortion or thoughts of thThis is either the guy mocking the girl, basically calling her a slut, or the girl saying that she's moved on and basically being a tease to him.

"We are, made from the sharpest things you’d say.
We are young and we don't care.
Your dreams and your hopeless hair.
We never wanted it to be this way.
For all our lives.
Do you care at all?"
They realize that they are young, and they just changed their whole lives with this relationship. They are moving on but they have grown up. They still long for eachother, but they know that it's best to live their own lives.
