Vegetarians would understand this one...
As far as Carolina I think it's the setting of his story. Down on the Carolina water with his dad. Lookin' out the window of his dad's Chevy cause he and his dad don't get along, he's just looking out of the window not talking till they get there.
That said, I've heard it quite a few times through high quality headphones, and it seems clear without argument to me what is said during the 'burger' line.

I love the music to it. It's so...droning and tired sounding, like trying to swim across an ocean, you just tell yourself to keep swimming, on and on, until you sink.
