So unimpressed but so in awe
Such a saint but such a whore
So self aware so full of shit
So indecisive so adamant

I'm contemplating thinking about thinking
It's overrated just get another drink and
Watch me come undone

(come undone)
They're selling razor blades and mirrors in the street
(come undone)
I pray that when I'm coming down you'll be asleep
(come undone)
If I ever hurt you your revenge will be so sweet
Because I'm scum, and I'm your son,
I come undone
I come undone

So rock and roll, so corporate suit
So damn ugly, so damn cute
So well-trained, so animal
So need your love, so fuck you all

I'm not scared of dying
I just don't want to
If I´d stop lying I'd just disappoint you
I come undone

(come undone)
They're selling razor blades and mirrors in the street
(come undone)
I pray that when I'm coming down you'll be asleep
(come undone)
If I ever hurt you your revenge will be so sweet
Because I'm scum, and I'm your son,
I come undone

So write another ballad
Mix it on a Wednesday
Sell it on a Thursday
Buy a yacht by Sunday
It's a love song
A love song

Do another interview
Sing a bunch of lies
Tell about celebrities that I despise
And sing love songs
We sing love songs
So sincere

So sincere

(come undone)
They're selling razor blades and mirrors in the street
(come undone)
I pray that when I'm coming down you'll be asleep
(come undone)
A young pretender and my crowds above can see
I come undone
I am scum
Love your son
You gotta love your son
You gotta love your son
You gotta love your son
Love your son
I am scum
I am scum
I am scum

General Comment:This song is Robbie singing to his fans/the general public.... 'Im your son' refering to us, the public, as we created him. We love to watch him rise and watch him fall. The line 'Theyre selling razor blades and mirrors in the street' of course hes talking about Coke, but its also a metaphor for it being sooo easy to fall off the wagon.

Also, hes refering to his behavior in the sense that he's in a lose lose situation... if he behaves himself you get bored, if he's naughty, you hate him...He 'come's undone' no matter what he does...

i love him, sooooo talented xx

General Comment:Come on, this song is not about cutting. I know songs are open to interpretation, but there's simply no way it's about cutting, he mentions mirrors in the same line, he doesn't want it open to interpretation, he's talking about drugs. I don't think the song is about drugs, but that line most certainly is.

He's being cynical about his profession and lifestyle. Drugs/temptation everywhere, money over art etc. However that's pretty old news, I feel like the entire meaning of the song comes down to the lines

    And sing love songs
    We sing love songs
    So sincere
    So sincere

I think he's saying there's so much falseness in his work, but when he sings love songs, he's truely being sincere, even if it's still about the money. I hope that's what he means, just being cynical about the music industry is pretty old. I love the way he sings those lines, and I feel like he really emphases them, the meloncholy nature of it all. It's false, but it's real, he hates his fans, but his songs only matter because they care about them.

Could be wrong on the second part, but the line is 100% about drugs, even if the lyrics were ambigious (they aren't), Robbie Williams does not come off as a cutter.

General Comment:Maybe i'm just too innocent or my bad english don't let me understand well the song, but i think the song talks about when you come to house drunk or drugged and you don't want to see your mom (Pray that when I'm coming down you'll be asleep).
It's true that other meanings could talk about drugs (the razor blades and the mirrors) but the first i thought when i listen is that the song is for his mom.

General Comment:I think literally, the razor blades and mirrors are a a reference to doing cocain (you set up lines with the blade upon a smooth surface, like a mirror). The video clip also supports this, with a close up of someone doing a line off a mirror- razor lying nearby.

But I agree with some of the others, the song is open to interpretation- so if you identify with cutting, then clearly thats what this song is going to mean to you. especially since drug addicts and self harmers often have a very similar disgust for their habbit.

I also think he mentions that said razor blades and mirrors can be bought "on the street"- as a reference to magazines/tabloids. When you buy into fame, you buy into everything else too- like the drug habbit.
But neither being a celebrity or doing drugs are as meaningful and glamorous as magazines would have you believe.

the lines: "So write another ballad
    Mix it on a Wednesday
    Sell it on a Thursday
    Buy a yacht by Saturday
    It's a love song"
also support his growing disilusion with fame and the music industry.

    great song!

General Comment:I think this song has a lot about APPEARENCE and REALITY
Every verse line contradicts itself, which reflects the battle between Robbie and Rob.
There is a lot of celebrity reference because it's a world where he's been sucked into & it really affects him.
Btw, this song is NOT the reason for the split between Rob and Guy Chambers.
It's a very strong song and Rob is rightly proud of it.

General Comment:It's definately in part about cocaine (the razor blades and mirrors, and the coming down bit are pretty blunt), but that doesn't mean it can't have multiple meanings, depending on the person (that goes for all the other song that may or may not be about drugs out there). Personally, I can't listen to the line that goes 'i pray that when i'm coming down you'll be asleep' without feeling a shiver down my spine... coming down is the worst thing i've ever experienced, and i hate myself so much for some of the things i've done and said in that state... it's a powerful song

General Comment:i completely identify with this song. to me, it's about how one person can be so many different things at one time, can change and adapt to different situations. somewhat along the lines of meredith brooks' "bitch," but more fun to sing along to.
i always figured the razor blades and mirrors were a cutting reference--you hate yourself so much you wanna watch while you cut yourself.
my fav line is "so need your love so fuck you all" because it's a desperation thing. you desperately desire attention/love/friendship from someone/someones over and over and when you still don't get it, you're like fuck you all.

General Comment:Now my favourite song, i think the 'they're selling razor blades and mirrors in the street' is definitly to do with the cocaine and drug scene and how it's become so easy to get hold of drugs nowadays. 'I pray that when i'm coming down you'll be asleep' meaning when you 'come down' from your high, your feel horrible, so he prays that no one will see him when he 'comes undone' from his high. 'So need your love so fuck you all' meaning he wants the love and support he can get, but because he acts strong he says 'fuck you all' i don't need your love i can make it on my own, sort of thing. 'I am scum, I'm your son' could be towards his mother how ashamed he is of his behaviour, but also to the british public as he says a lot 'England im your son.' This has become one of my favourite robbie songs.

General Comment:LeakG i think when there is a quick flash with the guys at the end is just to play with the publics mind, always hounding him of his sexuality. This song is i think an anecdote or biography almost, of his thoughts and feelings, how he has dealt with blows to his life etc and almost a comparison of the old days to the new.

General Comment:The whole album ("Escapology") has a lot to say about celebrity, fame and putting on an act (see "Monsoon", "Handsome Man", the two songs about LA) and this is another perfect example. And I would have thought that razor blades and mirrors is a clear cocaine reference (as also made by Oasis in "Morning Glory").
