Lyrics for The Jetset Life Is Gonna Kill You as interpreted by Brandnizzle2k4

The Jetset Life Is Gonna Kill You Lyrics
Gaze into her killing jar
I'd sometimes stare for hours.
She even poked the holes so I can breathe.

She bought the last line.
I'm just the worst kind.
Of guy to argue.
With what you might find.
And for the last night I lie.
Could I lie with you?

Alright...
Give up. Get down.
Its just the hardest part of living.
She wants. It all to come down this time.

Lost in the prescription she's got something else in mind.
Check into the Hotel Bella Muerte.

It gives the weak flight.
It gives the blind sight.
Until the cops come.
Or by the last light.
And for the last night I lie.
Could I lie next to you?

Alright...
Give up. Get down.
Its just the hardest part of living.
She wants. It all to come down this time.

Pull the plug.
But I'd like to learn your name.
And holding on.
Well I hope you do the same.
Awww sugar.
Slip into this tragedy you've spun this chamber dry.

Alright...
Give up. Get down.
Its just the hardest part of living.
She wants. It all to come down this time.

Pull the plug.
But I'd like to learn your name.
And holding on.
Well I hope you do the same.
Awww sugar.

Undoubtedly my favorite song on the album. MCR have definitely matured on this album and it's all for the better.

I concur. The new album is leaps and bounds from their earlier stuff. Every track on the album is an awesome, and much more 'grown up,' piece of music.

This may sound stupid but I think this song might be about being a famous person and having one-night stands

I think this song is defeintly about addiction and suicide with constant talks of "holding on" and "the last night" and "when the cops come".. also i tihnk the line might be "You've SMOKED this chamber dry" as a drug reference, and this "Jetset lifestyle" is a drug reference i belive... hotel bella muerte i belive means the hotel of beautiful death... Hotel could be referecning a place that the mind goes temporarily.thats my thoughts tho.

It is spun, perhaps as in playing russian roullete with drugs...

And i don't think anyone would want to check into a hotel named "beautiful death" autumns gone... im pretty sure pitchfork has that part correct. The hotel of beautiful death seems to me like the afterlife... cool song anyway, i like how the ghost of you leads into it...

it's part of the "demolition lovers" concept,
but from the perspective of the man looking over the woman while she's still on earth.

it's a concept album, kids.

Don't you just love those people who think that songs mean only one thing and decide to bestow this knowledge on the rest of us "kids"? Thanks tips, we already knew that much, but the beauty of interpretation is that it comes in many different ways.

this song is about rape. "she bought the last line... give up get down" "for the last night i lye can i lye with you" "lost in the perscription shes got something else in mind" she doesnt no wuts going on the meds give her a flight until the cops come and stop it. and the hotel is a realy obvious sign for the rape theory/

I think this song relates to an addiction to Methenphedamine (speed), and the friends addiction to it, and seeing her one last time "She bought the last line.
I'm just the worst kind.
Of guy to argue.
With what you might find.
And for the last night I lie.
Could I lie with you?"

Slip into this tragedy you've spun this chamber dry. meaning that what she has started for fun has now turned into a tragity and she has basically killed or hopitalized herself. spun referrin to how the drug makes people feel when there on it,

there is also a section of the song that tells that when she was on this drug, she most likely got caught doing it by the cops It gives the weak flight.
It gives the blind sight.
Until the cops come.
Or by the last light.

if you have no idea on why i am refeering this song to an addiction to speed please go buy the movie "Spun" or go to www.erowid.org and look under meth and reasearch it.

Yeah I totally agree with it being about using meth. But to me it is more then that, it tells a story. I'll do a line by line.

"Gaze into her killing jar
I'd sometimes stare for hours.
She even poked the holes so I can breathe."

This is my favorite stanza! Awesome analogy. His girlfriend is addicted. And while she is under the control of meth, he is under her control.

"She bought the last line.
I'm just the worst kind.
Of guy to argue.
With what you might find.
And for the last night I lie.
Could I lie with you?"

Right along with it, he is under her influence. He's a guy who has fallen for her and will do anything for her. Even live the life she lives.

"Alright...
Give up. Get down.
Its just the hardest part of living.
She wants. It all to come down this time."

It's all about the neverending cycle of meth. The snake eating itself. You get up and it wears off. Then you take another hit. Up! ... then down... you get the picture. But this time on her downer she has become especially destructive.

It gives the weak flight.
It gives the blind sight.
Until the cops come.
Or by the last light.
And for the last night I lie.
Could I lie next to you?

Drugs not only give you a euphoric feeling, (and this definitely depends on how you use it), but it also gives you a glimpse into your future self. Part of the emotion and high that stems from drugs really stems from you. That's why it affects everyone in a different way. You've heard the term high on life? Well, that is true. There is a way you can really find to be naturally high. And let me tell you, its better then a drug.

The weak (or meek) rise
Those who cannot see who they really are now get the glimpse

first of all, you are all wrong(no offense) this is a concept album, meaning that it has a storyline, which is why this album seems more 'mature'

The storyline is about two lovers battling through the hardships of life to be together. Now the only correct viewpoint may be the drug addiction thing. With this knowledge, everyone stop coming up with stupid ideas about this band

This is a great song, and i agree with IRo-bot Sinstar; it's a album with a storyline. This song, to me, means alot of things. I cant describe it. Forgive me for posting, since I obviously cant say what it means to me. I love this album, and this song blows me away.

Hate to quote myself, but here you are IRo-bot:
"Don't you just love those people who think that songs mean only one thing and decide to bestow this knowledge on the rest of us "kids"? Thanks tips, we already knew that much, but the beauty of interpretation is that it comes in many different ways."

Congratulations on your narrow mindedness, hey i bet Co&Ca have some sort of concept thing going too! It's not that the songs are well written with the INTENT to be more than just a part of a story, we're all just idiots. Good job.

LOL MCThursday that is a very powerful quote, so you can keep on quoting yourself. Thanks for the support, Concernsyounot and dutch_angel_moi!!

I do definitely see your point IRo-bot Sinstar and I do agree with that I do think (at least in my perspective) that MCR took it one step further and made these stories very analagous to life. It's a big reason why I can't stop listening to these songs.

For example, I think a lot of times zombies and the dead walking are analagous to just people who don't think for themselves. People who become a slave to the system.

Vampires, I believe exist today. Not the kind that drink blood (although I'm sure there's some out there!), but many people don't have a life of their own and have to leech onto others in order to live.

These are just my views though.

I agree with the drug references... but I always took "Lost in the Prescription/ She's got something else in mind" meant she was going to overdose and kill herself with the prescription ["something else in mind"]...
