Lyrics for The Ghost of You as interpreted by Mike NJSS

The Ghost of You Lyrics
I never, said I'd lie and wait forever
If I did we'd be together now
I can't always just forget her
But she could try

At the end of the world
Or the last thing I see
You are
Never coming home
Never coming home
Could I?
Should I?
And all the things that you never ever told me
And all the smiles that are ever ever...

Ever...
Get the feeling that you're never
All alone and I remember now
At the top of my lungs in my arms she dies
She dies

At the end of the world
Or the last thing I see
You are
Never coming home
Never coming home
Could I?
Should I?
And all the things that you never ever told me
And all the smiles that are ever gonna haunt me
Never coming home
Never coming home
Could I?
Should I?
And all the wounds that are ever gonna scar me
For all the ghosts that are never gonna catch me

If I fall...
If I fall...
Down
Wooooooooaaaaaahhhhh

At the end of the world
Or the last thing I see
You are
Never coming home
Never coming home
Never coming home
Never coming home

And all the things that you never ever told me
And all the smiles that are ever gonna haunt me
Never coming home
Never coming home
Could I....
Should I?
And all the wounds that are ever gonna scar me
For all the ghosts that are never gonna.....

what exactly is wrong with B12, I have to wonder, if this song was from the older album, would you still say it was awful? Just because more people have heard it doesn't make it any worse. i hate people like that, think they're better just because they've heard about something longer makes them think they're better. I also hate the people who don't know that there's another album besides Three Cheers, and those who are only like " OMG!!!!!!!!! GeRaLD WaY is so HOTT!!!"
I hate that,
hate it, hate it, hate it.
So I'm not siding with that kind of person just because I'm opposing the older fans who think they're greater than everyone else because of that.

I think this song is great it's like a tradgety he loves someone and they are gone never to smile hug say anything back or never be their for you anymore. It's like how you feel when you miss people you love who may have died or even a harsh breakup you probly will never get that persons love back in the same way. But wethet it's about the story line of the album or what you can apply it on so many levels.
I love MCR they are taking over the world no unhallowed hand can stop their prosession of gut wretching guitar licks and mind tearing vocals and heart tearing lyrics. Bwa Ha Ha

I'm not crazy about the song itself, but the video and the lyrics really have an effect on me. Probably because someone in my family died in war, it doesn't matter that it wasn't just yesterday. No matter when it happened, it always makes me think of how, if he'd survived, what he would have done with his life, and all the things that I know he wanted to know before he died, but never learned...

I watched the making of the video last night and Gerard said that the whole album was about loss and that this song in particular is about the fear of losing someone close to you. Thought some of you guys would like to know that

I think that this song actually talks about a lot of loved ones that he lost but he is making it into one person, instead of talking about every single person.

I think the song is about a guy who's love either died or broke up with him (aka, she's dead to him). Therefore, he asks himself all of these things as he commits suicide (or contemplates it) about how they'll be together in death. The "wounds that are ever going to scar me" is the reality that that person is gone, and the "ghosts that will never haunt me" are his memories of the emotions he felt for the person that is gone, and how he'll never feel them again.

I think it's about suicide because the narrator talks about "if I died we'd be together" and repeatedly asks himself "could I? should I?" (as in, could I do it? should I kill myself?). Also, he talks about that "you are the last thing I see", as in he is thinking of that person as he dies.

Maybe I'm totally wrong, but this song is so damn Emo.

I agree with lost all chance but couldn't it maybe be from the girls point of view and she's singing about someone she loved you know like that one girl in the video....

B-12, I sincerely hope you are being sarcastic. The song is about death, (maybe) suicide, and a lost love. If that is not emo, the sky is not blue, the earth is not round, and sugar is not sweet.

i wasn't being sarcastic, the song is a ballad emo and ballad don't mix.
emo = black metal with no keyboards and more singing.

no you dolt!
ballad isn't a style, it's the way you sing a song!
and black metal are bands like Emperor and Anorexia Nervosa, and some Dimmu Borgir.
take the keyboards out, put in some more singing and you got emo.
tada! it's quite easy you see.

hahaha, this band sucks.

I can't believe that you people are buying CDs from horrible "artists" like this when there are kids starving in Africa. you know their record label is just going to put this money towards making more copy-cat bands of this one (when they're no longer cool and you're all embarassed for having listened to it), and the only thing that My Chemical Romance is going to buy with their share is black and red hair dye, girl jeans, and money for shitty generic tattoos.

way to go you pigs.

real musicians, long dead, are rolling in their graves. I am talking about people like John Lennon, Brian Jones, Keith Moon, Jimi Hendrix... you know, people deserving of the title "artist".

and dude, black metal and emo are nothing alike. how the fuck do bands like Saves The Day, Dashboard Confessional, and Taking Back Sunday sound anyhting like black metal?

this is not "black metal without keyboards and more singing" it's called "mall metal".

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, i pity you, you think Taking back sunday, dashboard confessional and saves the day are emo?
hahahaha, you poor fool....
Saetia, Bring me the horizon, Funeral Diner, Black Dahlia Murder, Aiden, With Broken Wings, Atreyu, Bleeding Through....
They don't all sound alike, but those are all forms of emo, if you prefer to call it mall metal, then so be it.

my chemical romance isn't emo, but it's good although it's way too commercialised.
All music is good, there is no such thing as bad music.

Do you REALLY like these people's music? or are you just saying they deserve the title "artist" because they're classics, they're old, and going around telling people you listen to them might make you look more mature? in fact it doesn't.
Jimi Hendrix and the rest of the artists in your previous posts are no different from today's generation, back then THEY were all called frauds or undeserving of their titles by the elderly and the underground squads just like MCR is now.
And what makes the matter even more ironic, is the fact that their talents couldn't even compare to recent efforts, they pale in comparison to bands like Symphony X, Dragonforce, Angra and Rhapsody.
Just cause they're old favorites doesn't mean they're the best.
It's just that you heard them first, and people tend to get affected by the original versions rather than copycats, in this case you my friend prefer the original version of Rock and despise its carbon copy: Metal.
Don't take this as an insult, I'm just talking to you, trying to sort out this debate once and for all.
Keep in mind that i'm three years younger than you are and my arguments may not be as coherent or developped as yours, alright ;)

There's no such thing as emo.
Emo is the most retarded term for music ever.
The only thing MCR should be labeled as is: "amazing".

No. My Chemical Romance is emo, regardless of what your ritalin-addled brain tells you. Emo is a retarded term for a genre of music, which is why My Chemical Romance fits right in.

I will admit that they are amazing though. I continue to be amazed at how such a crappy band could get so many fans and so much radio airplay.

Would you stfu. MCR may have a "bit" or a small small "taste" of emo but I dont classify them as that. Emo music isnt bad. Though I dont like Black Metal.

Emo may have sounds that you can relate to black Metal but there two completly different genres. You have to know about the history of the genre and lyrical content before comparing and contrasting them.
