i love this song. i first heard it on purevolume.com, and i ran out and bought the CD. this is by far my favorite song. MCR rocks my socks, and frank rocks my bedpost.

I love how this song begins with Gerard singing. I saw them perform this song live and they were awesome. They put on an incredible show and they are the coolest guys I've ever met. MCR ROCKS!!

yea i know Bert is on this song, i just wish i knew where. they don't even list him in the liner notes, i just read it in a newsletter from The Used.
also the new Used single references MCR. I thought that was cool.

O MAN and i thought i was crazy for seeing some similiarities between mcr and the new used cd. wow. it makes so much sense now. hahah

"life is but a dream for the dead" << i love this line, i think it means that when you're dead, if there really is an afterlife or whatever, you'd wish you were still alive and had gotten around ot doing whatever you always wanted to do in life
"and well i can't go down by myself
but i'll go down with my friends"<< awsum line too, basically just saying that good friends will always be by your side

Bert is definitely on the song, and if u really kno his voice u can easily pick it out from gerard's... u can also hear his cute little laugh at the very end. I heard about these guys through being on the Used street team, and i went out right away n bought their cd... 2 weeks later they performed with Bled and Senses Fail at a small venue in Iowa City- these guys were GREAT, even with the small crowd n teeny stage, they were still able to put on the most incredible show i've ever seen... when gerard came out in his pig mask, i cried... a lot- mcr fucking rocks the shit--- oh yeah, buy the new Used cd... if u loved the first one, you'll love this one even more... bert gone emo, totally hot

ok first off if you liked the first used cd you'll find the second one terribly disappointing because bert has one of the best screams in music today and he doesn't even use it...screamo is the used first and best home

Okay apparently (according to an interview with Gerard Way in Kerrang magazine - can't remember the date tho - soz) Gerard said something about this song being written about him having to kiss Bert McCracken from The Used in a game of Truth or Dare ... I dunno how true this is but it's what he said :)

I loved the first Used album, and I prefer the second one, there's lots of screaming - Sound Effects and Over Dramatics, I'm a Fake, Take it Away and Listening are all screamo. But it's not used where it's not needed, I think he has one of the best singing voices around too.
You know what they do... is one of my favourite songs ever. And it's about my two favourite singers kissing. Which is a tad worrying. But it's all so energetic, it's awesome.

In an article about the Used in AP magazine, Bert said that he wrote the song about one time when they were drunk and making out and they were doing so for so long that it wasn't even funny anymore.

I think this is one of MCR's best songs..

"Bert said that he wrote the song about one time when they were drunk and making out" That kind of clears up "You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us in Prison", huh? I wonder if that's really what the song is about? It seems to be a mix of maybe that event and just what it's like to be in prison.. dunno.

well i've read a couple of times that 3cheers for sweet revenge is a concept album about bringing your dead girlfriend back to life by killing 1000 evil men - so if thats true then you can easily see what this songs about.
-begins with him killing loadsa people in a restaurant,
-mentions his girlfriend - 'this pain in my heart for your dying wish, i'll kiss your lips again'
- goes to jail for it
but i think that pretty much covers the idea in 1 song so i dont know what hes going on about for the other 12 tracks :s lots more references to killing people etc.

absolutely awsome album though!!!!

it was in rocksound issue 65 where they said about gerard wrote the saong about kissing bert mcracken. but that issue is sold out... and i have a copy...

in a recent edition of ap with my chemical romance on it gerard doesn't say anything about kissing bert but he does say that the song is definetly homosexual. how could it not be with lines such as "i wont go down by myself but ill go down with my friends." read the title. its pretty obvious i think what its about.
