Wasteful season take my hand
Take the place of the snakes who ran

Savage things wash over me
A crime that leaves the heated green

Oh machine
Machine, I washed it for you
Oh machine
Machine, I wasted for you

And I walk, and I walk
The space left for two
And I wait, and I wait
To wake next to you
And I walk, and I walk
The space left for two
And I wait, and I wait
To wake next to you

Oh machine
Machine, I wasted for you

Machine, machine
I washed it for you

I have no idea /what/ this song is about, but I don't think it's about a vibrator. Just a feeling.

Look at all the phallic images. "Take the place of the snakes who ran", this could tie in with the vibrator theory, it taking the place of the men who left her, represented by phallic image of the snakes. The title "Machine", itself can also be seen to represent the vibrator, calling it a machine due to its machine like state, immitating nature.

i don't know.. somehow i really doubt it's about vibrators. not much else really makes sense when it comes to that theory. washed what for you? wasted what for you? wasteful season? she waits to wake up to a vibrator?

    ..just sayin'

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
