Lost in the dark dreary day to day slog of living, Not being able to see colour, taste anything or touch someone.
Its dead without being dead.
Numb.
And having someone pull you back into the world, no matter what the cost. Even if its not what you (the dead) want.
I think you are missing the point of the song, its hope. Yes, it covers the dark numb cold but this song is about those times when you see a little light ahead. Suddenly, remembering what it feels to be alive again, even if its only temporary because the person is uninterested or unavailable etc.

The rest of the song then seems to be about her trying to get a hold of herself again and 'bring herself to life' (out of the depression.) It's almost as though the one person noticing her sadness has sparked her determination to save herself and break free.
This is just my personal interpretation, amazing song.
