    General Comment:This band has the most interesting tracks. This one is about a man (or woman) who sees himself as a failure. He can't see a bright future with anyone due to his own insecurities and due to all the mistakes he's made along the way. He's a pessimist who's tired of someone(s) thinking there is a light at the end of his cozy tunnel. He sees a bleak future, as do all pessimists. Man, they are BORING people. But the song's definitely interesting!

    General Comment:WHOO HOO!!! Good job Modest Mouse for straight repacking the damn thing for the latest piece of crap.... I'm just sooo sad cause I loved them so much, all the way up - even Good News was brilliant, but after that they've just been awful... Whale Song is close- this song is great but doesn't deserve to be on this new album :(

    General Comment:The lyrics remind me of every guy I have dated in the past couple of years. Either charmingly sweet or very mean - no in between and no consistency and always fucking up. If this song had been on Good News, it would have been the best song on the album.

    General Comment:i just discovered MM about two months ago and i was smoking a lot of weed at the time. having never herd any of their songs before on the radio or anywhere else i was completely awe struck by the awesomeness that is Modest Mouse, almost to the point of tears...

    this was one of the first songs i herd and im just throwin up some love for this song, missed the boat, bukowski, fire it up, worm vs birds, Dramamine and so so many more...

    MM changed my life

    General Comment:To me this song seems more like Isaac outright asking God why he doesn't always finish what he starts. It seems like he's questioning his existence all together because he never seems to get what he wants in life.

    mr. sweet and awful = god, according to religion he does good things and then when someone dies ppl question god

    -possibly about heaven, its not all its set out to be or a party, its just really crowded cause everyone supposedly goes there

    as for the chorus i'm thinking its mostly isaac being sarcastic about him grasping the concept of religion

    General Comment:I think this song is about Isaac's observations about God, "Mr. Sweet and Awful" sounds like god to me.

    And I think the song is about how God "works in mysterious ways" and how much Isaac thinks it's a bunch of bullshit.

    But that's just my opinion...

    General Comment:this is one of my favourite MM songs. I bought the MM discography on vinyl, and was surprised to find such a gem at the end of gnfpwlbn, never having heard it before.

    coming from a perpetual fuck up, i connected to this song thinking it was about some1 who has incredible potential to achieve but just cant every get it right.
