Now the first day that I met ya
I was looking in the sky
When the sun turned all a blur
And the thunderclouds rolled by
The sea began to shiver
And the wind began to moan
It must've been a sign for me
To leave you well alone
I was born without you, baby
But my feelings were a little bit too strong
You never said you love me
And I don't believe you can
'Cause I saw you in a dream
And you were with another man
You looked so cool and casual
And I tried to look the same
But now I've got to know ya
Tell me who am I to blame?
I was born without you, baby
But my feelings were a little bit too strong
Now the whole wide world is movin'
'Cause there's iron in my heart
I just can't keep from cryin'
'Cause you say we've got to part
Sorrow grips my voice as I stand here all alone
And watch you slowly take away
A love I've never known
I was born without you, baby
But my feelings were a little bit too strong
Just a little bit too strong

General Comment:I'd have to disagree about the this song is about a "woman" he cannot have.

It's about drug addiction and how he should've never started doing them.

But I suppose since it is Ozzy and he's awesome you can get multiple messages from his songs.

General Comment:this song is black sabbath the way they should be. Ozzie's voice at his best. amazing guitar solos. blues riffs a plenty. the bass line all over the place, yet perfectly synchronised with the guitar. yes, its a cover, but sabbath do it so well!!

General Comment:The lyrics are okay, never really got into the beginning of the song anyway; I'm not a big Ozzy fan. Tony Iommi however; that's where I draw the line. In my opinion one of the greatest guitarists ever. Not to mention that this is on their first album and he was probably still getting used to missing a finger -- and he can put out this! Amazing! The acoustics in the middle of the song, with the fade is especially well done as well. Besides this is a song that has so many different facets - metal, jazz, blues, rock -- utterly amazing. I am not ashamed to say that this is my favorite Black Sabbath song.

General Comment:Tommy's playing on this is emaculate, the first album was their best imo.

General Comment:It's a cover of some Russian Blues-Rock band's biggest song or something, I don't know for sure.

The only thing I know is that it's awesome. I bought We Sold Our Souls For Rock N Roll because it seemed like cheap way to own Sabbath's biggest hits. All I knew of was Iron Man and War Pigs. Then I hear this bluesy masterpiece and become obsessed with their sound and Ozzy's unbelieveable vocals. One of the truly great under rated Sabbath songs, or any kind of song for that matter.

General Comment:this songs awesome. i was waiting for it to end but it wouldn't they'd bust out a 3 min guitar solo, then they'd pause, jam, solo, pause, jam, solo, solo...
but it's too damn great to not appreciate.
