You're like a missile kind
Little kingdoms in your chest

I told you we'd make it, on for another
I told you we'd make it, on for all night (Put on all our best)

This is how they will live on
We'd looked better if we win

I told you we'd make it on for another (Oh I've been getting calls now out here)
I told you we'd make it on for another (On their mouths and chest)

Help this love before you leave
Demonstrations lack caress

I want you to take you, call on for life (Thank you for creating souls...)
The longer we make this, got no way there (Children sleep with dicks)

You con kiss me up all night
Complication sees your best

Told you, I want it here longer for you (I've been getting calls now out here)
I waited, I waited, it's late night, she's waiting at home (On their mouths and chest)

We've got love and hate it's the only way
We've got love and hate it's the only way

I think it's almost crimes
I think it's almost crimes
I think it's almost crimes
I think it's almost time

General Comment:I have no what this song is about, as the lyrics are very strange and the meaning schizophrenic and unclear, but it kind of reminds me of The Velvet Underground's "The Murder Mystery."

Kevin Drew's voice starts really melodic, orderly and triumphant at the beginning of the song and then kind of fizzles out at the end into chaotic, robotic nonsense-land, and sounds kind of like the guys in the background of the Velvet Underground song. Feist remains who she is.

    Neat sounding tune, crazy lyrics.

My Interpretation:I see this song as the relationship between a schizophrenic guy and the girl who loves him. She doesn't quite understand him, but she wants to stay together. Later, she gets scared of him but wants to be with him, he's saying crazy things and running aaway from her, but she can't let him go.

General Comment:I don't know if I just started thinking of this because of the dancing pregnant figure in the music video, but it seems plausible to me that they've had a baby to try to fix or hold together their complicated relationship, and its a mess because their relationship isn't working. They talk about making it for another -- making their relationship work for their baby? Looking better if they wed, something keeping them up all night, agreeing they were up for another...... Also, "This is how they wear their all" kind of reminds me of it too. Your kid is in a way what you make them, and you feel very responsible for how they turn out, so you're sort of wearing their success, wearing their all.

The bleeding part I guess is pain?

And they're trying their hardest but the girl is waiting around for him to come home, and mouths are suggesting its not working (maybe even the now more grown up kid?)

The closing line is that they think its almost time. They've tried, its almost a crime how much pain its causing them, and maybe they don't have to try anymore because the kid is grown up. So its time for them to give up.

I could be totally wrong, but that's just what came to mind/seemed clear to me. I love broken social scene so much -- I'm kind of only just starting to get to know ALL the songs but I have most of the albums and I'm already pretty much obsessed

General Comment:I think the first line is:

    Little kingdoms in your chess.

I think this line is an allusion to a similar 'troubled boy as antihero/messiah' theme in "I've Seen All Good People" by Yes. The song is called Almost Crimes because the boy and the girl both committed 'crimes' against each other in a chaotic, short-lived, yet beautiful relationship.

The 'inappropriate for children' lines are in there because the boy is the relationship is just plain nuts / bipolar or something, or maybe the girl and boy BOTH are. Anyway you look at it it's a beautiful song.

My Interpretation:i get the feeling that the line "children sleep with dicks" isn't exactly literal, which is obviously the case with a lot of weird lyrics haha. i think it could mean that childish people wind up sleeping with or consorting with people who behave like "dicks".
    fantastic song either way.

General Comment:If you were to look up messiah on the online dictionary, the meaning is "a zealous leader of some cause or project."

And thus, making the phrase "You're like a messiah, pal. Little kingdoms in your chest." Make sense. :)
