I heard a voice through the dischord
Of a deluge of passers-by
I saw one gaze frozen in time
Watching me passing by
I swear I'll know your face in the crowd
And I'll hear your voice so loud
When you're whispering

Hey, unfaithful, I will teach you
To be stronger, to be stronger
Hey, ungraceful, I will teach you
To forgive one another

Here's my kiss to betray
Desperate to brush the lips of grace
Do you feel hollow when you think of how I've lied?
Oh, sweet angel of mercy, with your grace like the morning
Wrap your loving arms around me
Oh, sweet angel of mercy, with your grace like the morning
Wrap your loving arms around me

Hey, unfaithful, I will teach you
To be stronger, to be stronger
Hey, ungraceful, I will teach you
To forgive one another
Hey, unfaithful, I will teach you
To be stronger, to be stronger

Hey, unloving
I will love you
I will love you
I will love you

And Jesus I'm ready to come HOME!
(JESUS, I'M READY)
I'm ready to come home, home, home, home
I'm ready to come
Hey unfaithful, hey ungraceful, hey unloving
I will love you
Hey unloving (HEY UNLOVING!)
I will love you

Song Meaning:no no no this song isnt about excepting christianity, religion has nothing to do with the meaning, although it makes some refrences. The title "Some will seek forgiveness, others escape" is referring to suicide. it is talking about someone who is feeling guilty about something they have done or the person they have become and whether they should take the path of seeking redemption/forgiveness or if they should "escape" or commit suicide.
In the mind of a suicidal person they think of it as an escape route, so if they don't want to face consequences or they are afraid of what will happen due to desisions they've made, they turn to suicide.
when it says "Jesus, Im ready to come home" it is referring to the person committing suicide and leaving their old bad life and entering a new life to start over, (heaven- if you want to view it that way)
very very depressing song, but beautiful as well, good job underoath.

General Comment:Dont know if this was mentioned or not, but the title is the slogan from the movie MAGNOLIA, starring Tom Cruise.

General Comment:it took this song a while to grow on me and for me to "get" it.

those somber last tones after the singing is over creep down my spine and into my soul.

this whole song, if you stripped the vocals out, sounds like something straight out of that movie Friday Night Lights, that band explosions in the sky.

    fuckin love it

General Comment:Thank God for His grace that has covered us, which is what i believe the song to be about; not just His unconditional love.
No matter what we have done, where we are at(spiritually), He has poured His love for you because He loves us.
"..Hey unfaithful, hey ungraceful, hey unloving
    I will love you[/Teach You]..."
It's a learning process guys, he doesn't expect us to come clean, he cleans us.

General Comment:i do like fat0cat's and slacker's version about the meaning (: even though it's from another point of view.. but it's cool that also non-believer can refer to this song.
definitely one of their best songs (: but i've never had the chance to see them playing this song >.<

btw. when does aaron gillespie start singing? i can't really hear it out because i think most parts are by aaron marsh..
    can someone help me?

Song Meaning:When you listen to this song, half the time think of it as the Lord speaking to you. The chorus is all the Lord saying he is here to guide you, care for you, love you, teach you to be a son or daughter of Him. The first verse says, "And I'll hear your voice so loud/When you're whispering." Those two lines are one part showing that any time you need Him, speak his name cause no matter what He will here you. The Lord is always there for you. The entire song is almost a guide. If you need guidance, He will guide you. If you need love, He will love you, If you need to be saved, HE WILL SAVE YOU. The end is, "Jesus I'm ready to come home." Those words just shatter every part of regret I have. It plainly says, "I'm read to come home." Our home is with the Lord in heaven, but you must follow him to get there.

General Comment:this song is amazing, and it is by the grace of God that people that don't even believen God have said that they feel "something", have hope, cry, etc when they hear this song. God is realy using this song, and musicians, to reach people for Christ and show people the Love of God.

just wanted to make a comment about the "Jesus im ready to come home part". what i think that means is that through all thsi persons trial and questioning and betraying God (etc) they finally realize that they are ready to follow God again. Ready to start over.

    Powerful message in this song
