Na, na, na, na, na, na, na
I miss you, miss you so bad
I don't forget you, oh, it's so sad
I hope you can hear me
I remember it clearly

The day you slipped away
Was the day I found it won't be the same, oh

Na, na, na, na, na, na, na

I didn't get around to kiss you
Goodbye on the hand
I wish that I could see you again
I know that I can't
Oh, I hope you can hear me, 'cause I remember it clearly

The day you slipped away
Was the day I found it won't be the same, oh

I've had my wake up
Won't you wake up
I keep asking why (I keep asking why)
And I can't take it
It wasn't fake
It happened, you passed by

Now you're gone, now you're gone
There you go, there you go
Somewhere I can't bring you back
Now you're gone, now you're gone
There you go, there you go
Somewhere, you're not coming back

The day you slipped away
Was the day I found it won't be the same, no
The day you slipped away
Was the day that I found it won't be the same, oh

Na, na, na, na, na, na, na
I miss you

all of you fuckers dissing on avril can shut the fuck up!! She did not write this song to win fans, songwriting is an art that people use to express grief, to display emotions! I've had two people i truly cared about die on me, too, and i love this song, because it's about not exactly having closure after someone's death... and it's not too catchy a tune, but forgive her if she didn't want it to be a morbid rock song... dont get me wrong, i love rock, but its not what she's familiar with writing! And if you're not a fan of Avril's, dont come onto this page and read her damn songs just so you can insult them!! if you dont like her, stay off her page! Does insulting her music make you feel better about yourself? Not trying to go into old-school psycology or anything, but seriously, I want to see you write a productive song about one of your loved ones dying, and then you can have your own lyric page with your own fans to please.

Hey haters... how about maybe she DID write the song for her grampa as a way of grieving? OMG what a concept! I personally think it's a beautiful song. It has the simple meaning of never being able to say goodbye. Oh, and Tom, this song isn't really pop, I just saw Avril live and she sounded amazing, and yeah, she actually went away to a private estate to write the songs by herself for this album. Now c'mon, I wanna see what you write.

Oh and yeah, it's so nice to call someone pathetic by the way they grieve. If most of your relatives weren't dead maybe you wouldn't be so much of an inconsiderate asshole.

im sure avrils grief was not outlined for a perfect song, i mean shes expressing her hurt, sense of loss and guilt into a song, its what she does, its how she deals, dont be all picky because it doesnt have a perfect chorus, this is her, raw and real. I think its better that she didnt sugar coat it, she wrote wat she felt. But then again, Avril wouldnt give a fuck whether u liked her music or not, its her, love it or leave it!

You know what? Everyone coming on this page and arguing about Avril Lavigne are the sad ones.

When will people start to realise that everyone they are judging, hating, slagging off, they're all people. And people have the right to free speech.

You all have the right to free speech too, the right to express your opinion but please DON'T force your opinions on other people. That's not fair and shows disrespect for people in general, ok.

this song means alot to me... tom not every1 will agree wit u, im not a big fan of avrils but this song means alot to me. i didnt expect to listen to this song till my ex made me... my mom died 4 years ago n my bestfriend shot himself in the head 2 years ago - he blamed himself for things that happened to me n his other friends... i blame myself for not protectin him wen i culd n i neva gotto tell him how much i loved him.. i miss him more and more everyday. i cry everytym i listen to this song becoz it is exactly how i feel about him i sat in an exam cryin writin out the words to the song wen i almost had a nervous breakdown needles to say i failed my exam n i managed to pull myself thru it... so wat if the chorous is too short so wat if it seems to pop like its avrils choice of dealin with grief im sure u ppl who have somin nasty things to say about it have ur own way whether it b listenin to this very song or curled up in a ball in the shower pourin ur eyes out with water drownin u wyl u sit there... y put avril down about it. i take my hat off to her for actually publishin this song and showin ppl how much she cares about her grampa its none of ur business if she used it for publicity or not so just do us all a favour and deal with it alryt! if u got a problem with the song then take ur comments else where or make up a ihateavril website where other ppl that appreaciate her music wont have to put up with ur kuk!

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
