Lyrics for It's Not A Fashion Statement, It's A Fuc... as interpreted by Brandnizzle2k4

It's Not A Fashion Statement, It's A Fuc... Lyrics
(For what you did to me
and what i'll do to you
you get what everyone else gets
you'll get a lifetime)

Lets Go!

Do you remember back when we met
you told me this gets harder
Well it did
Been holding on forever
promise me that when i'm gone you'll kill my enemies

The damage you've inflicted
temporary wounds
i'm coming back from the dead
and i'll take you home with me
i'm taking back the life you stole

We never got that far
this helps me to think
all through the night
bright lights that
won't kill me now
or tell me how
just you and i
your starless eyes remain

Hip hip hooray for me
you talk to me
but would you kill me in my sleep
lay still like the dead
from the razor to the rosary
we could lose ourselves
and paint these walls
in pitchfork red

I will avenge my ghost
with every breath i take
i'm coming back from the dead
and i'll take you home with me
i'm taking back the life you stole

This hole you put me in
wasn't deep enough
and i'm climbing out right now
you're running out of places
to hide from me

When you go
just know that i will remember you
if living was the hardest part
we'll then one day be together

And in the end we'll fall apart
just as the leaves change in color
and then i will be with you
i will be there one last time now

When you go
just know that i will remember you
i've lost my fear of falling
i will be with you, i will be with you

FOR WHAT YOU DID TO ME
WHAT I'LL DO TO YOU
YOU GET WHAT EVERYONE ELSE GETS
YOU GET A LIFETIME!

awesome song, cant get enough of it.

to me, it totally just reinforces their title- THREE CHEERS FOR SWEET REVENGE. and it kinda continues hang 'em high, but its about the people he killed coming back for him, but also his revenge and anger built up inside of him coming out, you kno? also, i think its about his lvoer that died that hes trying to get back, like shes kinda talking to him but then also like i said the ppl he killed coming back to get him. im repeating myself so i'll just shut up...

This song is saying that he has a friend and they are really close and his friend betrays him and he dies (emotionally or physically).Basically he is coming back to life (or out of a depression state) and he's gonna get revenge and bring his friend down the way his friend did to him. but he seems to love his friend because he wants to be with him but at the same time he has to be punished.

I think this song's about when I really couldn't hold it in so i just pooped in front of a parked car in town and then i wrote 'MCR GIMPS' on the window in my poo.

Okay, like I've said before, I don't really read through all the posts, just skim, and if someone else already mentioned this I'm terribly sorry, don't go all karate on my ass.

This song, to me, seems like a story (as has been said). He met a girl, and they apparently have a rather messed up relationship. My best interpretation would be that something drastic happened, such as her cheating on him or betraying him in some other way, but he constantly forgives her and takes her back.

This song to me seems very Doctor Jekle\\Mr Hyde. Some lyrics to support this:
"We never got that far
this helps me to think
all through the night
bright lights that
won't kill me now
or tell me how
just you and i
your starless eyes remain"
>>This goes with my theory, that something happened, but he took her back again, because he's confident that everything will work out. The "you and I, your starless eyes" line seems to work through that. A very Doctor Jekle moment.

"I will avenge my ghost
with every breath i take
i'm coming back from the dead
and i'll take you home with me
i'm taking back the life you stole"
>>Now, this is Mr Hyde. Now the character is going "wait just a damn minute, why do I keep letting you ruin me?" He's realizing that it happens every time.

"When you go
just know that i will remember you
if living was the hardest part
we'll then one day be together

And in the end we'll fall apart
just as the leaves change in color
and then i will be with you
i will be there one last time now

When you go
just know that i will remember you
i've lost my fear of falling
i will be with you, i will be with you"
>>These are very powerful lines, to me. He goes back and forth from "I still love her" to "I'm better off" the whole song, and now the character seems to finally realize that he has to let her go. The lyrics project a very reluctant sort of letting-go feeling, and they are REALLY sad... But he knows that he has to do it, for the sake of her, and he will always remember her..

Powerful song. I can relate to it.

((This is my thrid attempt at an interpretation, tell me how I did... try not to chew me out too bad...))

Michelle.

No one has really attempted to prvoide an explanation for the concept or story of "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge" so I guess I'll have to try. I think we all agree that it is about the girl the guy in the story loves being killed and in order to get her back he has to kill 1,000 men because it says that in the booklet. But no-one has really explained how each song fits into the story. Helena is about Gerard's grandmother, but in the story I think it's Gerard reminiscing about this girl whom he loved but she destroyed everyone's lives around her. She died and he has to let her go. Then Give 'Em Hell Kid I heard was about abortion, but I think it could also be about how the man met the woman, and they fell in love, but he left her. The one thing I am most confused about is when the woman actually dies because there are references made to this in many songs on the album, all at different times so the chronology is extremely confusing. For example, it's talked about in To The End, Ghost of You, The Jetset Life is Gonna Kill You, Cemetary Drive and I Never Told You What I Do For A Living. I guess perhaps they got married after Give 'Em Hell Kid but she dies in To The End. Maybe he killed her and that's why he went to prison? I don't know, it's really confusing because so many different things seem to be going on. Anyway, this song I think is after the guy has died- I don't know when this happens exactly; perhaps in Hang 'Em High; anyway, they had a hard relationship but he still loves her and he's also talking to his enemies: you've killed me but I'm coming back and you're going to pay. You'll never keep me down kind of thing. I think the last three songs fit together and follow the story the most successfully of all the songs on the album. It would be interesting to see if someone has the answers.

"Hip hip hooray for me
you talk to me
but would you kill me in my sleep "

Hip hip hooray for me, you talk to me
could mean deep down inside, he cares for this person who betrayed him. Parts of him wants to still be loved/recogonized/liked/noticed whatever. Thats why he's saying yay for him, cause he got what he wanted, that person is talking to him is around him. But another parts of him feels so hurt and hatefull that revenge runs deep. Thats why he shows his untrustworthy by saying but would you kill me in my sleep?

When you go
just know that i will remember you
i've lost my fear of falling
i will be with you, i will be with you

when you go,
could mean when this person moves on with their lives.
he wants them to remember that he will never forget the shit he put him through.

i lost my fear of flying
maybe he can see this person suffering too and afraid and it makes him feel stronger.

i will be with you
could mean, he impacted his hate on this person so dearly, that the thoughts of him will run in that persons mind.

i personally think this is towards a girl, someone who was his crime partner, he loved her and she betrayed him.

"just you and i
your starless eyes remain"

starless eyes? could this refer to him seeing how cold and evil she was to do this to him?

usually the ones you care for the most, are the ones that you hate more. So a love hate is formed that is the confusing parts that are going back and forth in this song.

This song reminds me of that part in 'Corpse Bride' where the guy says: 'You cannot be together untill death do you part, since death has already parted you. You can only be together if he dies.' or something like that. Actually, a lot of the songs on this cd reminds me of that... This is my favourite song, though.

my favorite song off of three cheers. this one is kind of personal to me because i relate it to someone in my own past who hurt me bad...so anyway its kind of hard for me to pick out what i think he means because i only know what it means to me. does that make any sense? well anyway.
LOTMS rocks, love it to death, but i do wish more songs from the first album were on it.

"ButNeverOutgunned" your sarcasm amuses me. This song would be great ...if it weren't on the tracklisting for "Three Cheers...". That album is an selection of well thought, amazingly written, sensationally performed pieces of music that have been worked so hard on, yet they seem to go to waste on an album that is propelled into the direction of the wrong people.

The agression of Three Cheers and the whole point of it are sorely missed when corporations such as [i know its overused but] MTV propell the artists into the chaos of the wrong audience. These people are the ones who are interested in the band
Ex.1.After the date October 2005.
Ex.2.For the hotness of Gerard.
Ex.3.For the hotness of Frank.
Ex.4.For the hotness of Mikey.
Ex.5.After listening to 3 tracks off one album.

This band actually means something to some people and gives them purpose and people are missing the message they are sending, all they want to do is gang-rape the boys.

let's see:
1- i knew them way before oct 2005
2/3/4- i didn't even know the guys were considered as "hott"
5- i hate all three of
-i'm not okay
-helena
-ghost of you
(but mostly cemetary drive, even though it's not on a single, it just sucks)

i passed the test, i'm a real fan!!!

ButNeverOutgunned's sarcasm never fails to amuse me either.

This is a rather vague summary of what I think it is. But simply I think it's about a boyfriend/girlfriend (or boyfriend/boyfriend?) relationship. But whatever the sexual preference, this was definitely a hard relationship.

It bsically talks about how this person put our narrator through hell and back. They went on a rollercoaster and in&out of this relationship (maybe more than) a few times. But despite all of it, our narrator still wants to be with their lover and will do anything to be with them.

It's really sweet actually. Very well written too.

ps. who cares if anyone's a "real" fan? stop being so fucking pretentious. who cares if MCR has "sold out"? kudos to them for being so successful! isn't that almost everyone's mission in life to be successful? it pisses me off. it's their fucking music and lives. not yours. yeah i understand the fangirls piss you off because they piss me off as well with any band but whatever. if you really like the music that much, you're not going to stop listening to them just because someone you don't like ends up liking them. that's pathetic. ignore them.
