Lyrics for It's Not A Fashion Statement, It's A Fuc... as interpreted by Brandnizzle2k4

It's Not A Fashion Statement, It's A Fuc... Lyrics
(For what you did to me
and what i'll do to you
you get what everyone else gets
you'll get a lifetime)

Lets Go!

Do you remember back when we met
you told me this gets harder
Well it did
Been holding on forever
promise me that when i'm gone you'll kill my enemies

The damage you've inflicted
temporary wounds
i'm coming back from the dead
and i'll take you home with me
i'm taking back the life you stole

We never got that far
this helps me to think
all through the night
bright lights that
won't kill me now
or tell me how
just you and i
your starless eyes remain

Hip hip hooray for me
you talk to me
but would you kill me in my sleep
lay still like the dead
from the razor to the rosary
we could lose ourselves
and paint these walls
in pitchfork red

I will avenge my ghost
with every breath i take
i'm coming back from the dead
and i'll take you home with me
i'm taking back the life you stole

This hole you put me in
wasn't deep enough
and i'm climbing out right now
you're running out of places
to hide from me

When you go
just know that i will remember you
if living was the hardest part
we'll then one day be together

And in the end we'll fall apart
just as the leaves change in color
and then i will be with you
i will be there one last time now

When you go
just know that i will remember you
i've lost my fear of falling
i will be with you, i will be with you

I'd only heard a few of MCR's songs, but thought they were awesome so I decided to pick up their album. I'm glad I did, cause they're badass!
Anyway, I was just looking at the album booklet, and on the back it says "The Story of a man. A woman. And the corpses of a thousand evil men...", so I went to their website to see if they explained it at all, and it said there was a concept behind some of the songs, like they tell a story, does anyone have anymore information on that? I've been trying to decipher it myself, but I'm just curious to what the real story could be.

I cant believe no-ones commented on this. It's fucking amazing. This song and The Ghost Of You are the deepest ones on the album. Just a brilliant song.

This song is amazing, one of my favorite off of Three Cheers other than Bury Me In Black, which is by far the best song on the cd.

Hm.. If I had to make a guess to the meaning of this song, I think it ties in with Hang 'em High. Since Hang 'em High's about.. well.. ehrm.. Frienship and fighting side by side, I'd guess that this is about that person stabbing him in the back. That's how the end of the album seems to end. The first CD, 'I brought you my bullets...' seemed about living your life to the end with your love, and eventually to the death of a thousand men.. This CD is about that girl stabbing you in the back. Cemetary Drive talks about pretty much the aftermath thoughts of the treachery, and I Never Told you What I Did For a Living about.. well.. killing her.. and yourself. Get what I'm saying?

to answer kizmets question. On the album it says: the story of a man. a woman. and the corpses of a thousand evil man.

the whole album is a story, he explains it partly in rolling stone magazine. "It's about two Bonnie and Clyde-type lovers who die in the desert in a gunfight," Way says. "The guy goes to hell and meets the devil. But the woman isn't there, and the devil says they can only be reunited if the guy brings him the souls of 1,000 evil men."

Here's a line-by-line:

"Been holding on forever
promise me that when i'm gone you'll kill my enemies"

This person commits suicide and all he wants when he's gone is for her to take care of all the people that drove him to this.

"We never got that far
this helps me to think
all through the night
bright lights that
won't kill me now"

He talks about bright lights. I think its a metephor saying that he is not afraid of the light. I'm not trying to turn this into a Christian thing, but I'm definitely basing it on spirituality on a personal level.

"from the razor to the rosary
we could lose ourselves
and paint these walls
in pitchfork red"

It's like back-and-forth across good and evil we'll lose ourselves. There are two ways to get to what many think is the same place. The trick is one looks like the other. Wether you've gone dead or are reborn, both involve a process of letting some part of you go.

"And in the end we'll fall apart
just as the leaves change in color
and then i will be with you
i will be there one last time now"

A sweet happy ending (in a little twisted sort of way). He confesses that he wants nothing more then to be with her in the end.

I see this as a tale like the Deftone's "One Weak." How one has fallen and one has risen to the see the light, and the eternal discomfort of the resulting conflicts.

This is an awesome song... they lyrics, the guitars, the drums... wow, it's all great. So fast moving, but still long enough to let the meaning of it sink in.

I think this song basically talks about good and evil. I fully agree with chino- it seems like everything you said makes the song easier to comprehend. The end kind of seems like everything comes together and makes more sense. I love this song...

i think this song is saying that he has a friend and they are really close and his friend betrays him and he dies (emotionally or physically). and basically he coming back to life (or out of a depression state) and he's gonna get revenge and bring his friend down the way his friend did to him. but he seems to love his friend because he wants to be with him but at the same time he has to be punished.

hey IfShadosRoteDiaries if you like cds that tell stories you should listen to coheed and cambria. all there cds fit together into one big story. their first cd is the second chapter of the story, the second cd is the third chapter, then their next cd will be the final chapter, then their fourth cd will be the first chapter. its really good their also making the story into a comic book and claudio's voice if fucking awsome. so i suggest them to you.

i think its about how your friends let you down,
you become really depressed for a while,
then when you feel okay again all you want to do is fuck with them so they can taste the way they made you feel.

It seems like a continuation of Hang 'Em High to me, but twisted cause he sound upset in this song like he wants revenge. Especially that coing back from the dead line-this hole you put me in wasn't deep enough and I'm climbing out right now, you're running out of places to hide from me-I love that part but he seems like he saying that whoever wronged him can'r get away with it cause hes coming for them. But then it sort of changes it's tone at the end with the -I will be with you-part. Then it kinda shifts into I'm-mad-but-I-still-want-you-and-want-you-to-be-there-with-me-in-the-end kind of thing. A little confusing but still really good.
