Lyrics for Jack The Ripper as interpreted by Brandnizzle2k4

Jack The Ripper Lyrics
Oh, you look so tired
Mouth slack and wide
Ill-housed and ill-advised
Your face is as mean
As your life has been

Crash into my arms
I WANT YOU
You don't agree -
But you don't refuse
I know you

And I know a place
Where no one is likely to pass
Oh, you don't care if it's late
And you don't care if you're lost
And oh, you look so tired
(But tonight you presume too much)
Too much, too much
And if it's the last
Thing I ever do
I'M GONNA GET YOU

Crash into my arms
I WANT YOU
You don't agree -
But you don't refuse
I know you

Crash into my arms
I WANT YOU
You don't agree -
But you don't refuse
I know you
Oh ...

One thing you have to know about Jack the Ripper is that he was incapable of having sex with anyone, and as a result, hated women and everything they represented. He had a penis deformity and an insatiable appetite for destruction. He would kill prostitutes by slashing their throats from behind, and eventually started mutilating them afterwards. He would then draw pictures and paintings based on those murders and send letters to the police, all postmarked from different places in Europe. He was known to travel far and wide, but because the envelopes were coming from all across the continent, the police dismissed them. He was able to write in many different handwritings, and was an actor before he became an artist and killer. He was able to dress up very well, ranging from a police officer to a soldier in the British Navy, allowing him to slip around undetectable. Albeit a disgusting, vile killer, he was a genius, and didn't get caught. It wasn't until quite recently that his identity was discovered to be the Walter Richard Sickert. For more information, read Patricia Cornwell's new book "Portrait of a Killer: Jack the Ripper - Case Closed"

cutie_star is right, this song is obviously, from the title, about 'Jack the Ripper' a famous murderer in the 19th century. He killed prostitutes v brutally and practically slaughtered them to death. The song is explaining how Jack the Ripper lured his victims and killed them. Love this song, yes, it MAY be a tad more dark than the others, but it's fucking awesome, i love it.

As much as I *love* MCR to tiny little pieces, I don't really like their cover of this song.
It's meant to be quiet-creepy, not loud-creepy and all...^^;...but, I still love 'em.
Colin Meloy (of The Decemberists) does an *awesome* job covering this, 'tho.

The lyrics are pretty hard to make out, but i got
"I'm Sleepwalking Back Into This Hell" down
it's said after the second chorus and towards the end.
I'm not sure about the rest, but it's probably the Best MCR song out there.

"Anybody know anything about Sister To Sleep? is it a cover? is it a new song? It's a damn good song, but i've only found it live."

They wrote it because they were asked to do a song for the 'Freddy Vs Jason' soundtrack, but obviously it didn't get on it. It'd about sleep deprovation(sp?). The only version I've found, also, sounds live. If they ever do a third album they'll probably have it on there.
I wish I could figure out the lyrics myself. I can understand most of it, but not all.

Great Cover, i loved that song!
The lyrics kinda point out this songs meanings, so not much interpretation here.

p.s: sister to sleep's lyrics are so hard to understand!
what the heck is he saying in the beginning.

Well it's about Jack the Ripper I think we've gathered, it's from his POV aswell.

Oh, you look so tired
Mouth slack and wide
Ill-housed and ill-advised
Your face is as mean
As your life has been

^^Describing the prozzy and her hard life, whatever it was it's driven her to prositution.^^

Crash into my arms
I WANT YOU
You don't agree -
But you don't refuse
I know you

^^She doesn't agree or refuse, she doesn't really wanna but she has to. The "I want you" part is possibly more sinister than it seems. I don't know about "I know you". Maybe he thinks he's inside their heads.^^

And I know a place
Where no one is likely to pass
Oh, you don't care if it's late
And you don't care if you're lost
And oh, you look so tired

^^Gonna fuck her. He's telling her he knows a place they can go (duh) "You look so tired" - he's sympathising with her, making her think he's not out to get her.^^

(But tonight you presume too much)
Too much, too much
And if it's the last
Thing I ever do
I'M GONNA GET YOU

^^he's gonna kill her and she doesn't know it. He is determinded.^^

Probably didn't need me to spell that out for you, heh.
