okay, when all the people i hate were raving about this band and this song i was DETERMINED to not like this band. You see it is my HUMBLE confession that i really love to hate emo crap and anything that is affiliated with it, (i heart led zeppelin and the doors) but after listening to this cd and song , as much as I hate to admit it, I REALLY FUCKING LIKE THIS BAND!!! weeeeeee.......

I love this band so the day they told me they had video on Mtv my world stopped. This is such great band and it totally disappoints me to know that they are acting stupid showing people how they make their flashy videos and changing the meaning of this record to get more high school kids to like them. I hate the fact that they are saying that the Cd is about High school, I saw then in a interview describing the CD as romance tale of two lovers that die and are not together in the afterlife. The guy make a deal to kill a thousand evil men just to be with his love again. But know they have gone and changed it, that is so fucking stupid. This band has songs that make bad days go by sooner and great days reach their peak. I have loved this band since the first Cd came out and now all those pop- punk-rock kids I hate are going to the show and buying the hats and shirts.

i think this song means that he is not okay but he's okay with it, and dosn't care anymore about the things people have done to upset or agravate him because he now feels revenge.

WorD. The part where he says, "I'm not okay" and later saying, "Trust me, I'm okay" is contradictory where people ask if your okay and you just say "I'm fine" even though you are not. For the lyrics from "for all the dirty looks" all the way to "jumping out the second floor," i think it was about a girl who was stuck in a relationship with a sexually abusing boyfriend who looks at her dirty, takes nasty photos of her, and probably tries to rape her which is why she broke her foot trying to get away and jumping out the second floor through his window.
I think the guy singing this song cares about her and tries to help her, but she doesn't wanna listen so he's not okay!

All I know is this song is definitely not about suicide. It's very very brilliant, almost sarcastic teen angst. It is as blunt as blunt goes: I'm not okay! I swear, who...in this world...would ever think this is about suicide?

i just went through a whole situation and this was pretty much like my theme song.
i think its about how someone can hurt you so incredibly badly but you love them enough to suffer quietly so they can be happy. meanwhile you're still bitter and hoping that it doesnt work out, but you still play along and act like everything is okay. "i mean it im okay, trust me..... im not okay" its very contradicting and incredibly perfect. one of the albums best songs.

i'm kinda new to the mcr thing (yeah i know, im so far behind), but since i split with my bf, ive been looking for music with a bit more energy to it, whcih mcr have bucketloads of. as has been sadi earlier, i think this song kinda revolves around when you're down (whether it be about love or whatever), and yu get people asking you constantly if you're okay, and ur immediate response is, "yeah im okay", but i think this song takes a step back fromt hat and is like, "you know what, actually i'm not okay, this is how it really is." and i'm not oh-fucking-kay is the best lyric for me in this song. simple yet spesh. just my thoughts people. :o)
