i love mcr, we have tickets to see them for the second time in april. i really like this song, its great and i really like the lyrics although in comparison to the rest of their album and their previous album it does lack alot.

this is their most poppy song but its still good it is so mainstream!! obviously about not being okay frank looks amazingly hot in this video its a funny video funny lyrics and i can definatly relate to this song its the song tht got me hooked on mcr and i love it

Okay this song is cute and all, but it really doesn't do the album justice. I had heard them before but never really got into them, and then I heard this song and it didn't encourage me to want to see them live or buy the CD. My little brother ended up getting the CD, and I must say the rest was a lot better. The video to this song is one of the best music videos I've seen, and it goes with the song, I just don't like that people judge MCR by I'm Not Okay.

As for the song meaning, I think it's more satire than actual truth. The whole music video is kind of in-your-face but also seems to be making fun of high school drama. We all know those "Oh woe is me" kids who try to commit suicide by jumping out the second floor, or whore themselves and take pictures, claim to be misunderstood, "my life sucks", etc. Hell, some of them even post messages on this very song saying "This is exactly how I feel -tear-"

Just goes to show he hit the nail on the head.

& MCR is quite mainstream. Basically every band on FUSE and MTV are. If you like a band, & you wear their T-Shirts and buy their CDs, then you're advertising them and putting money in their pocket. You WANT them to be successful until they actually do get popular, and then you disown them. You claim to be a "true" fan because you knew them first, but you're really the sellouts because you can't support them or be happy that they're doing well.

ok kids... the video mimics the movie Rushmore with the one and only Jason Schwartzman (you might know him as Phantom Planet's ex-drummer, who are also a great band and have awesome songs other than just California so check em out) and yeah all u effin jerkswho say some bands are sellouts are a buncha douchebags so yeha yeah

they didn't make the song to mimick kids who feel that way..gerard was practically one of those kids..
and this song is pretty self explanitory...and just like thetorrentsofspring commented on...i actually do like this song because i feel i can relate to it a little...it gets a little old telling everyone "no really im OK" all the time when you know you're not.. and although i don't think this is the best song of theirs, it is still a great song.

I honstly think that he is talkin about highschool days n a girl he loved but she had a b/f but him and this girl had a secret love but she'd never break up with her b/f "you wear me out" and he is saying he's not okay cuz she won't tell everyone they love eachother instead of the guy she's with. if u got n-e of that lol.

aww...people are gonna like hate mail me now, but I think that this is the worst song on Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge (I can't say anything for their first CD yet- my friend is being lazy and still hasn't gotten it to me- AFTER ALL THIS TIME!!) but let me explain myself...okay, I can't explain, but I just don't like it nearly as much as the rest of their songs. The other songs like...Helena or To The End or Hang 'Em High kick ass rockin and this...doesn't quite live up to those standards. In my opinion.

Besides, no offense to you guys or anything, but I will bet you my sould that 2/3 of everyone who commented on this song and said that it was "fucken awesome" was a poser and doesn't even really like MCR- and probably hasn't heard any of there other songs. Or maybe that's just where I'm living- I'm speaking out of experience.

But My Chemical Romance is kick ass rocking besides, even if this song is a little bit...faggy (I'M SO SORRY GERARD haha)

I interpret this song as the point of view of the guy who the girl would hook up with, even when she had a boyfriend. He took things too seriously, and ended up getting hurt. He wants to play it off like it was nothing, but he's really "not okay".

This song is so great. My Chemical Romance and Green Day are the only "pop-punk" bands I can stand to listen to, and Green Day's presence on that list could easily be argued against.

I still find it so funny how in the music video, all of the preppy guys at the end are holding lacrosse sticks!!! Lol, it cracks me up!
(Here in NJ, lacrosse is the major sport. Besides soccer.)
