im in adolsent pyscology (however its spelt) and my project is to find a peice of media (song, show, movie clips, poem, book what have you) to represent adolsences. and i choice this song and am taping fuse till it comes on. its perfect. i hate to generalize but ell teens feel like the world is out to get them and there is something wrong with who or what they are..that whole teenage angst thing. WONDRED! above all i just love singing this song, and yes i love singing "im not o fucking k" because i never swear and its just soo...refreshing to sing that! tee hee

Personally Im not that big a fan of this song. I love My Chem. No doubt about it. I like the song but its just so poppy. I much much much prefer their older stuff! Our Lady Sorrows, Downing Lessons, Skylines and Turnsails.
Their new album is good but it sounds so much mainstream to their last record.
This upsets me because theirs all these kids who think my chem are their fave band even though they only know im not okay. They listen to good charlotte and simple plan and think my chem are something like them.
They're not. Im pretty sure the majority of those type of people will not like the rest of my chem and will think they are some what of a one hit wonder.
They are so much more then that.
END RANT!

so for the song meaning...
the people who have said this is head first for halos i think are right.
both songs sound poppy but deal with suicide.
this song in my eyes is about how a girl and guy are best friends, they both understand each other and what they are going through.
Then the girl gets a boyfriend. The boy gets upset about it, he feels like he's losing his best friend. She keeps asking him if he's okay with it. He tells her he is but inside he's really screaming no im fucking not. He wants her to remember how they used to be. The only ones who understood each other.

XwhoXamXi, I don't think anyone is listening to us. I've said that like 3 times and everyone keeps saying "oh, this song is about a boy who wants this girl, but shes to cool so she sticks up her nose" this isn't fuckin Avril Lavighn people this music has deapth, it has secret messages and meanings. Take Vampires will Never Hurt You for example, its not really about vampires, hwever cool they may be XD

why would u not want a band to go 'mainstream'?? yeah its cool goin to gigs where ur like only 1 of like 50 people ther but the mainstream bands make more money because they sell more cds and get more popular... a band becoming popular isnt a good reason to stop likin them..!!!

Well it seems to me that this song is about a bad breakup whereby the lead singer was asked about how his been doing and he hates that cause it's obvious he's not having a great time.

"I'm not okay" repeatedly, shouting kinda speaks for itself...

Nice song... Vey right-to-your-face kinda song...
