Amazing song,
when i was "down"
(down meaning, needed saving)
my friend told me to listen to this song and to tell me what I thought. This song is truly amazing, and I love it. It seems that things aren't okay, but then it says they are, like a fake out. But then things are bad again... I dont know.. Its a great song tho.

I like the song, but I think this song was meant as a joke (sarcasm, irony). I've only heard a couple of songs by the band I'm not gonna voice an opinion on them yet. As far as emo goes some songs are ok, some are crap, but I think calling this song emo is really a stretch... If you are mad at your band for becoming successful you're an idiot, because there's a difference between making more money and changing one's outfits and lyrics to go mainstream.

This song is about Gerard's high school years and the part'forget about the dirty looks for photographs your boyfriend took' is about when Gerard had a crush on a girl who ended up taking slutty sleazy photographs with her boyfriend.He was heart broken and hurt.

i love this song so much it's unbelievable =D
it really gets the party going and whenever me and my friends hear it we go crazy!!!
i love the bit in the song where it goes 'i mean this. im okay. trust me!' and then it carries on. the trust me bit is probably the bit everyone waits for lol.
it's a song i think everyone can relate to when your feeling pissed off or having a bad day.
it's like you feel really upset but you can't say to your friends 'hey, im not okay.' it's like this song is just about letting all your anger out.
i think this song is a legend and will still be loved in years to come (:

Do people need to be posting completely rude comments on here that really have nothing to do with the song? :/

This song is one of my favourites out of the ones I heard so far. I always think of this song being about things that go on in high school or when you're a teenager or something like that. It's really good.

My favourite part has to be when Gerard says "Trust me.", and the "I'm not o-fucking-kay" is not far behind that. Very good song.

i LOVE this song, its so amazing. and i did read in a biography about the girl he liked taking slutty pictures do its most likely about that.
it reminds me about a few months ago how i kept telling people i was okay when i cleary wasnt. but thanks to mcr, im so past that now, which is why i fuvking love them :')

A really awesome song. It could be an anthem for teenagehood, if that is a word. I love this song, amazingly. We are all outsiders in a certain way. This song makes me feel like everyone is like me and that I can let out my craziness and my feelings.

this song reminds me to much of something i want to yell out, to everyone around me, but i just say nothing. hearing this made it different. cause i listened to different music, and now my brothers think ive gone against them, and my friends, cause i listen to different music then them now. but yeah, when some people ask "are you ok?" and you would say yeah, but me. id say. "am i ever ok?" other then that, i dont know. or not.

Essentially, this song is about Gerard when he was in high school. He has described himself as a "loner" and that he only had one real friend. He really liked this girl, but she took some sleazy photos with her boyfriend and that crushed him. ("photographs your boyfriend took")

I could be wrong, but the line "remember when you broke your foot from jumping off the second floor" implies to me that this girl was seeing Gerard behind her boyfriends back and jumped out the window or something so her boyfriend wouldnt catch her.

However, it is impossible to relate every line the meaning of the song because the context is not 100% clear given that this song was written based on a particular personal experience and isnt just written generally.
