I never understood before
I never knew what love was for
My heart was broke my head was sore
What a feeling

Caught up in ancient history
I didn't believe in destiny
I look up you're standing next to me
What a feeling

What a feeling in my soul
Love burns brighter than sunshine
It's brighter than sunshine
Let the rain fall I don't care
I'm yours and suddenly you're mine
Suddenly you're mine
And it's brighter than sunshine

I never saw it happenin'
I'd given up and given in
I just couldn't take the hurt again
What a feeling

I didn't have the strength to fight
But suddenly it seemed so right
Me and you
What a feeling

What a feeling in my soul
Love burns brighter than sunshine
It's brighter than sunshine
Let the rain fall I don't care
I'm yours and suddenly you're mine
Suddenly you're mine
And it's brighter than the sun
It's brighter the sun
It's brighter than the sun, sunshine

Love will remain a mystery
But give me your hand and you will see
You're heart is keeping time with me

Oh what a feeling in my soul
Love burns brighter than sunshine
It's brighter than sunshine
Let the rain fall I don't care
I'm yours and suddenly you're mine
Suddenly you're mine

I've got a feeling in my soul
Love burns brighter than sunshine
It's brighter than sunshine
Let the rain fall I don't care
I'm yours and suddenly you're mine
Suddenly you're mine
And its brighter than sunshine

    My Interpretation

i am totally in love with this song! and i'm waiting for the day that i can finally relate to it.

"I never saw it happening, I'd given up and given in, I just couldn't take the hurt again What a feeling."

    • this is about a person who's been waiting for true love to come along, someone who's been hurt too many times but suddenly found someone.

"Love will remain a mystery, But give me your hand and you will see, Your heart is keeping time with me."

    • although he's not really certain where things are going (no one ca ever be!), he's holding on to the belief that they can make it together.

Quite a contrast from the melancholy "Strange and Beautiful" but this one is so good, perhaps even better.

I see a heavey "XTC" influence in this song-it really is a nice bit of work. If u dnt knw XTC is a british band ---not the drug......

My boyfriend and I went to this movie on the day of our three month anniversary, I remember just loving the movie(most of if ;) ) and absolutely loving this song. It practically made me cry it's so sweet. I still have the movie ticket. I like to think of it as our song. I can so relate to this song.

this song is...a good one. you are struggling and just wanting to be a shell, and the other person is fighting their way through the emotion barrier.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
