Yeah

Pathetic (benign)
Accept it (undermine)
Your opinion (my justification)
Happy (safe)
Servant (caged)
Malice (utter weakness)
No toleration
Invade (committed)
Enraged (admit it)
Don't condescend (don't even disagree)
Desire (decay)
Disappoint (delay)
You suffered then
(Now suffer unto me)

Obsession (take another look)
Remember (every chance you took)
Decide, (either live with me) or give up
(Any thought you had of being free)

(Don't go) I never wanted anybody more than I wanted you
(I know) the only thing I ever really loved was hate

Anyone (no), anything (yes), anyway (fall)
Anybody (mine), anybody (tell me)
I want (you), I need (you), I'll have (you)
I won't (let anybody have you)
Obey (me), believe (me)
Just trust (me), worship (me), live for (me)
Be grateful (now), be honest (now)
Be precious (now), be mine (just love me)

Possession (feed my only vice)
Confession (I won't tell you twice)
Decide, (either die for me) or give up
(Any thought you had of being free)

(Don't go) I never wanted anybody more than I wanted you
(I know) the only thing I ever really loved was hurting you
(Don't go) I never wanted anybody more than I wanted you
(I know) the only thing I ever really loved was hate

Yeah
Yeah

Stay inside the hole
Let me take control (dominate)
You were nothing more
You were something less (innocent)
Something has to give
Something has to break (omnipresent)
Fingers on your skin
Let my savage in
You deserve it
You deserve it
You deserve it
You deserve it
You deserve it

(Don't go) I never wanted anybody more
Than I wanted you (I wanted you)
(I know) the only thing I ever really loved
Was hurting you (was hurting you)
(Don't go) I never wanted anybody more
Than I wanted you (I wanted you)
(I know) the only thing I ever really loved was hate

You're mine (I know who you are)
You're mine (I know who you are)
You're mine (I know who you are)
You're mine (I know who you are)

    Memory

This whole song is my goddamn ex-boyfriend. Possessive, obsessive, his anger, and I try to leave but he always gets me to come crawling back, but then blames me for leaving and hurts me, and says that I deserve it for what I did. Because it hits me so close to home I know that it must be about girls that come back to men even though they walk all over her...

The song is amazing, my favourite on what is an almost flawless album which shows Slipknot's newfound 3-dimensionalism. If they'd have stayed with the old stuff, we'd've all grown insanely bored within seconds of listening to it, and don't deny it. And Ass_Ripping_Metal, you're only voicing what countless others have before you. You weren't the first and you won't be the last. Had to be said.

    My Interpretation

Wow, can't believe no one's commented on this song yet. It's very surprising. I think that this song is brilliant...it so perfectly displays the darker side of love, where it starts to cross over into something completely different, something obssessive, possessive. To the point where he will have her, regardless of what she thinks or wants. Like the song says: Decide - either live with me Or give up - any thought you have of being free I feel that that is the groundwork of the song, the feeling, but there is action as well: Stay inside the hole, let me take control.(dominate) You were nothing more, you were something less(innocent) Something had to give, something had to break(omnipresent) Fingers on your skin, let my savage in.(you deserve it) The way I see it, that shows that she tried to escape from him, but he wouldn't let her..."letting his savage in" and justifying it by her deserving it. And the end of the song sums it up quite nicely..."You're mine."

    My Interpretation

To me, this kinda sounds like someone getting screwed over in a relationship or something emotional. It sorta looks like he was pretty much in love with her, but she turned him down or screwed him over somehow, and now all of his emotions and memories towards her have turned into hate, even to the point where he can't even remember what it was like to love in the first place. The whole "The only thing I really ever loved was hate" is that whole thing about him thinking that he never really loved her in the first place, or at least trying to convince himself of that. I'm probably REALLY off with this, but that's the impression I've been getting while listening to it all day.

ok..im a very huge die hard fan of SlipKnoT...but im having some thoughts about this album....its very different...VERY different...this change is almost as drastic as Static-X's album Shadow Zone...i mean, i like Vol.3: The Subliminal Verses so far...but jesus christ im starting to beleive my friends when they tell me this is just Stone Sour with better drumming. but like i said and dont get me wrong..i like the album so far..but its very different

c'mon waynestaticx85 youre going to tell me this album isnt good. It combines everything good that slipknot has done in the past. The singing of Stone Sour, the speed of the first album and the heavyness of the second. Just give it more time. I would say this and the first are about the same rating. If you dont like it just put it in a surround sound system at full blast;it will change youre mind.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
