Lyrics for Hard Life as interpreted by Mikkel

Hard Life Lyrics
And it's a hard life
For a man with no wife
Babe, it's a hard life
God makes you live

But without it
Don't doubt it
You don't even have
Your tears to give

I wake up and I'm fine
With my dreamings still on my mind
But it don't take long, you see
For the demons to come and visit me

And I've got my problems
Sometimes love don't solve them
And I end each day
In a song

And it's a hard life
For a man with no wife
Lord, it's a hard life
God makes you live

But without it
Baby, don't doubt it
You don't even have
Your tears to give

I know I'm a hard man
To live with sometimes
Maybe it ain't in me
To make you a happy wife of mine

Maybe you'll kill me
Honey I don't blame you
If I was in your place
Maybe that's what I would do

But I ain't breathing, let me breathe
Let me go, let me leave
I don't know, but I might lose
I might bum, might blow a fuse

So let me go
Lay it down
On my own
Let me drown

Let me go
Go where you don't know

when u don't have a friend, a companion, someone to go to, when u are dangerous to be around u blame urself. but God, God is always there. hes bigger then all the problems of this life. he is always there no matter what. even if u do not accept him. but that is the key. accept, and u can learn to love life. because if u know u can't change something then why try. live it. u only get one. the day u die, u will shed the tears for ur loved ones, not only urself. u are allowed to be selfesh, ur problems effect u. the real thing is though, is to never make the mistake, never fuck with the wrong people and ur life will stay set straight.

If anybody didn't know; Will Oldman wrote this entire album with as he and his wife were getting to the point of divorce. This song, and almost all the rest on the album, are about that whole experience.

The windy minimilism of that last track reminds me of Labradford's isolationist period.

I think the lyric is:

"But I ain't breeding, let me breed"
