Lyrics for Stars and Sons as interpreted by sexautomata

Stars and Sons Lyrics
And when you let it
You ask for nothing, why don't you share it
All in the time you went
There's someone that left
This one will know how far I live on

This one will ever know in this town
And in a red room
At a distance
How should I know when?
You can see through the rest
I don't know when, it won't be this time

This one will know how far I live on

All in the time you went
There's someone that left
This one will know how far I live on

How should I know when?
You can see through the rest
I don't know when, it won't be this time

This one will know how far I live on

This song makes me want to clap.... I Like it! I'm not sure what the meaning of it is, yet. Something about seeing the red; Very metaphoric, and a feeling unknown.

i agree the bassline is very addictive. this is the song that turned me on to broken social scene. its great. i especially like the vocals on this song.

i don't think people are supposed to figure out this song, it's very vague.

You're damn right, this has to be the sweetest bassline ever.
this is a song about life and is very accordingly vague, just like life is. One of the greatest songs I've ever heard.

This song, Oh God, it's one of the best songs i've heard in my life , the base line is sooo damn catchy!
and that solo is crazy i've never heard anything like it ... almost crimes is another good song from BSS.
i can totally interpret this song with my relationship, specially the first verse, but that's just me!

those lyrics are totally fucking wrong. they're cryptic because they make no sense grammatically.

Mayeb they're just cut short? So cannot work out what he sings when I listen to it. But love the bassline - v catchy - and the claps.

When performed live, this song gives me instant goosebumps, and the clapping is absolutely sensational.

One of the top ranked songs on my list.

The bass line in this rivals that of Moby Octopad by Yo La Tengo.

And the clapping is such an ingenius little thing to add into an already great song. I love it. :)

like everyone else, what sold me was the bassline and clapping. i never thought clapping can make the song so much more fun. BSS rocks.

i think the song's message is that people should share their lives with someone while they have a chance cause we dont live that long .... but i just came up with that reading the lyrics and i could be totally wrong . i just can't figure out why the colour red is mentioned so much maybe it's a symbol for love ... anyone got anything to add other than commenting the bass line?

Their bassist is great. Personally though, I don't like the clapping.

As for the meaning of the song? This is going to sound crazy, but I'm going out on a limb. Beauty in the bullshit, or bullshit in the beauty? I don't know, could be, maybe not.

I love this song beacuse i couldnt understand the lyrics. To me Bocken Social Scene is all about conveying an atmosphere, and that is extacly what this song did and it didnt need words it simply made me feel.

To me this song is about something or someone that everyone searches for in their lives, without being completely sure what it is. I think theyre telling us how silly it is to be human and think we need something that we cannot name.... just my take
