*this is the simple part to me. He's saying that there's no easy way to end it now. But he wishes she would just forget about trying to hate him and go her way in peace. But obviously she can't do that and still feel like she's not the bad guy, so he knows he has to play the part to make her feel better about dating another guy. He's just given up trying to reconcile it. So he tells her the only reason he dated her was so he could hate her or some crazy shit like that, because he knows that's what she needed to hear in order to forget about hurting him.
