Lyrics for Come Back as interpreted by division2ronin

Come Back Lyrics
Moving, again
Comfort of the chase
Now and again
This my saving grace

Dead on the inside I’ve got nothing to prove
Keep me alive and give me something to lose
Goodbye, this time
Leaving you
I’ve been gone so long, so, gone so long
But I will come back
I will come back
I will come back
I will come back
I will come back
I will come back
I will come back
I will come back
For you

Changes, changing
Back and forth again
Trading faces
Strangers in the end

Dead on the inside I’ve got nothing to prove
Keep me alive and give me something to lose
Goodbye, this time
Leaving you
I’ve been gone so long, so, gone so long
But I will come back
I will come back
I will come back
I will come back
I will come back
I will come back
I will come back
I will come back
For you
For you

I will come back
I will come back
I will come back
I will come back
I will come back
I will come back
I will come back
I will come back
For you
I will come back
I will come back
I will come back
I will come back
I will come back

To me, this just signifies a time in life when something has to change. He knows he's got to leave and change for things to progress the way they need to. But, he's not losing everything; his promise is to come back and, better and stronger than ever.

At least, that's what it means to my uneducated ass.

I think this might mean that he has lost a friend, fighting and changing so they dont associate anymore and are like strangers.. But he will come back to the way he was again. Dunno. Hardcore song tho.

It could be about an on-off relationship that he enjoys having because he enjoys the "thrill of the chase", and both of them know that as soon as its over, he'll come back again soon...

it could be about. someone he really likes but before he's really got to know her he's had to go away say like on tour. But in this song he's going to come back to her as a better person for her. i'm more than likey going to be wrong but hey thats what i thought.

Ever been with someone for so long, and then SNAP have no one? Once you start chasing a girl, the whole lead up before you even start dating, there's a lot of security to be found there. Especially if its been a while. The only way to realllly get over someone.... is to find someone else. Once the chase begins, thats it. Nothing to prove, nothing to lose when your alone, but once you enter a relationship it all changes. Even if the relationship means nothing, the chase of the relationship keeps us occupied.

The second half of the song is about those relationships where we only go into the half heartedly... really, you want the girl you had before, that one fucking awesome girl you've had, and you try to make every girl seem like her. They help pass the time, but ultimately mean nothing, cause they're not the one you want.

The chorus is about coming back for the one girl, the one girl you've ever really loved. Forget all the 'inbetween girls' who were just passing the time for you, this one girl is it.

I think it's about Dave's career. He loves that he's always on the run and never gets too close to anyone "comfort of the chase," and "this my savin' grace." It keeps him from getting too close and getting hurt. "Tradin' faces, strangers in the end..." I think this is about how people tell each other what they want the other to think and we can never REALLY know someone because we can never REALLY know if they're telling us the truth.

i say it is about dope.
the chase - getting one.
come back - from active addiction.
dead on the inside... give me something to lose - self explanatory
changes - that is what recovery is all about.

cool how lots of folks can see such different things.
maybe a good sign of true art.

great closer to a mostly disappointing album. Very good song though.

not every rock song is about love, or a girl. I don't think this song is about a girl. i think scotty was on the right track and it being about his career, maybe the band. it's definitely not about a girl, and not about kurt, so that's always good. A ton of emotion in this song though. The Fighters of Foo continue to rock.

The song starts off with the protagonist leaving his girlfriend/spouse. The relationship ended inconspicuously quickly. The man feels that the relationship wasn't given it's due, or chance, and vows that he will come back.

Very amazing song, especially at the ending. The song stops, then builds up into a soaring conclusion, perhaps making the notion that the man DID come back, as he said he would, for better or for worse.

it is about chasing a girl who uve wanted for a while and when you finally get her,you fuck it up and are dead on the inside...u leave her "leaving you" and then when you with other girls you realise that they are not her and you decide that you have to go back for her "i will come back for you!!!"
it kind of depicts how there is one girl that a guy will always love and only once he has screwed up does he realise that she is the one
beautiful song...one of their best...its one of their songs that people dont take much notice of as a great song as it is not so much of a radio song....but if u listen to the album u will c its one of the best

after alot of thought i have just realised this really stupid theory........

come back could have been a 'sneak preview' into what in you honour was to sound like. i mean it has an awesome heavy riff with powerful lyrics (disc 1)and the break down can reflect on the 2nd disc of the album with a much softer touch and beautiful acoustic sounds.

sounds weird but its just my idea

This song was inspired by the Dark Tower Series by Stephen King. Dave loves the series and has made several songs based on it. This particular song is about Roland, the main character. Read the whole series and then listen to the song. The instrumental is about the beginning to the end of the series.

Spare me from this teeney bobbing, happy hoarse shit that brings up the bile from the back of my neck. I have no time or tolerance for those shitey, whack acts like this. I'll piss on their CD's and put out a fire. I'm tired of this lame ass, tame ass prefabricated and sorry excuses for singers and muscians who are gay. What the world needs now is muscial revolution we need some nu-metal rapcore something that has boss, We need something with substance, depth something with soul, edge, passion, some power. Shit, if its going to be mellow, fuck man it better have something, it better mean something. I'm telling you, we need something hard, you gotta stick em with something limp, like limp bizkit. I'm so fucking tired of this shit I'm hearing on the radio, radio sucks! The same fucking songs over and over again. All the weak ones, all that disposable crap that is not going to matter in 3 months, it's just shit. There is shit going on and we need some new music, Limp bizkit and linkin park are fucking cool, those guys are cool, but fuck all of that other shit. It is taking up space in the charts,I'm outa here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hahahahaha...oh my god! Linkin Park is good? All their songs sound the same. Same drumset, same synth, even the same pitch on the lyrics. And Limpbizkit?!?! Fred Durst is the worst singer I've ever heard. If you would have said Nine Inch Nails or something, I could have respected that, but this is just ridiculous. Foo Fighters are good. Deal with it!
