Completely changes the whole meaning of the song.
It is about a couple that is just laying in bed, not necessarily post coitus, but it is highly likely. The plastic stars and personal galaxy are those little glow in the dark stars that affix to your ceiling.
The word lying does not meaning laying, it is the present participle of lie. Someone who is lying is not prone, but is falsifying the truth. In the song it is meant to be taken both as laying and lying.
The point of the song is that no matter the circumstances, no matter those false pretenses two people, for a moment ever so short, have found someone else to spend it with.
Besides, not all us goths are so depressing ;).
That being said, I think the song has to do with being in a good relationships, but having to compromise on sex. Should we do it? Should we wait? Morals are different and all of that. Essentially, it sounds like they both want each other and want to be with each other, but one of them was raised to "take it slow".
