Your neighbors were screaming
I don't have a key for downstairs
So I punched all the buzzers hoping he would be there
And now my head's hurting
You say I always get my own way
But you were in the shower when I got there
And I don' wanted to stay, but I got nothing to say

You were so beautiful before today
And then I heard what you say'man that was ugly

The Moschino bra you bought me last Christmas
Put it in the box, put it in the box
Frank's in there and I don't care
Put it in the box, put it in the box
Just take it
Take the box

Take the box

I came home this evening and nothing felt like how it should be
I feel like writing you a letter but that is not me'you know me
Feel so fucking angry; don't want to be reminded of you
But when I left my shit in your kitchen
I said goodbye to your bedroom it smelled of you

Mr False Pretence, you don't make sense
I just don't know you
But you make me cry, where's my kiss goodbye'
I think I love you

The Moschino bra you bought me last Christmas
Put it in the box, put it in the box
Frank's in there and I don't care
Put it in the box, put it in the box
Now take it
Take the box
Just take it, take it
Take the box
And now just take the box
Take the box

Take the box

General Comment:For everyone confused about the "Frank" reference, I'll be happy to clear it up as I'm a huge fan of Amy Winehouse.

She named her album "Frank" after her favorite jazz singer Frank Sinatra (one of my other favorites!). As a child, her father, Mitch, would always sing her Frank Sinatra songs, which lead to her favoritism (besides his amazing musical talent) of him. As you can already tell, her reference to "Frank's in there, I don't care" is again, another reference to Frank Sinatra's CD's she put in the box that she received from an ex, which the song is about. The dog has no correlation with this song, just was a part of the album cover.

Also, if you're confused on this "box", it's simply a "break-up box"; a box in which we put the memories of our ex (whether objects, letters, etc) into to forget about then and move on.

My Opinion:This is the most gut-wrenching breakup song I've ever heard! Seems most people here share my favourite line of the song... the way her voice sounds when she says "But you made me cry, where's my kiss goodbye? ... I think I love you" brings tears to my eyes almost every time I listen to this track.

I don't think the debated line in the chorus has anything to do with a gay lover or her dog. Frank is a reference to a Frank Sinatra CD he bought for her, full of songs that held special meaning in their relationship. I'm pretty sure I actually read that somewhere as coming from Amy herself, but I can't confirm that for sure.

In any case, why on earth would she put her dog in a box full of relationship memorabilia to be thrown away or given back to her ex? That's just silly! Even if Frank is the name of her dog that appears on the album cover, it's a reasonably large dog -- it'd have to be a pretty big box! lol

As for the gay-lover theory, I don't think that the line 'I punched all the buzzers, hoping he would be there' is correct... I think she says 'hoping YOU would be there', since in the rest of the song, everything she says is directed at the guy and not as if she's speaking about him to a third person. It wouldn't really make sense for her to suddenly interrupt her thoughts in the chorus about what she's going to put in the box to mention that her now-ex is in a room with another man... it just doesn't fit. Frank is clearly a nickname given to an inanimate object that he gave her as a gift (that she is now returning), even if it's not a Frank Sinatra CD.

General Comment:i love this song, because the middle is such a facade that just crumbles.
she says she said goodbye to him, got rid of his scent, his stuff, etc
but then her true feelings are just too strong to be held back by the lie and she breaks out into "i think i love you" which is almost screamed, but beautifully so.

General Comment:I always thought "Frank" was/is her ex. He buzzed her in, obviously, and he was the shower (perhaps as a way of deliberately avoiding her while she gathered her things.) He's only just in another room and she doesn't care (whether or not she really means this statement)

Where is this Frank Sinatra stuff coming from? It's also on wikiepedia but it's not cited or referenced.
