Lascivious,
It's all that I can think of as I drag my feet, searching
Like a Diogenes,
Dangerous,
The adjectives of the decade and of your alluring intricacies,
Yes I see your green-screen mentality
And I can feel the sting of its consequence,
And I know I shouldn't but it's too much to ignore,
An emotion I deplore,
Every time I look at you, I just want to do it,
I can clench my fist right through it
But I just want to get off,
Rectilinear,
This direction we've been heading never realizing we are on a runaway machine,
Angular,
The momentum that does turn us one step further on our ladder,
One more turn toward the east,
I realize your green-screen mentality
And I know it is shared by many more,
And I know it is quite impossible
But I am damned to find a way to
Revolve the other way,
Every time I scrutinize I just say "screw it",
We're on a ride down a blind conduit and I just want to get off
It's all that I can think of as I drag my feet, searching
Like a Diogenes,
Dangerous,
The adjectives of the decade and of your alluring intricacies,
Yes I see your green-screen mentality
And I can feel the sting of its consequence,
And I know I shouldn't but it's too much to ignore,
An emotion I deplore,
Every time I look at you, I just want to do it,
I can clench my fist right through it
But I just want to get off,
Rectilinear,

One more turn toward the east,
I realize your green-screen mentality
And I know it is shared by many more,
And I know it is quite impossible

We're on a ride down a blind conduit and I just want to get off

The first half is about sexual urges and putting up with relationship bullshit just to satiate them. You can muscle past the fake posturing but wouldn't it be great if we just didn't have to?
The second half is a different idea but connected to the first. It covers social and communal urges in humans, and putting up with being pulled around this way and that (politically, really. "One more turn towards the east") just to satiate those. Again, being in a society or a community is great, but we have to deal with all the extra bullshit that isn't strictly neccessary.
The main concept is tied up in a neat little bow by the play between "Get Off" as in orgasm and "Get Off" as in exiting or leaving something.
Which is why in the middle of that song we have that part where all the guitars go down, down, down, and I do that high pitched girly scream. That was me. Get Off is about life as a ride. Greg just wants to get the fuck off the ride. Which isn't really a great sentiment either.

"Lascivious,It's all that I can think of as I drag my feet, searching like a diogenes."
This makes me think of a man who is attracted to the outer shell of women without "honest" emotions.
"Dangerous, the adjectives of the decade and of your alluring intricacies."
This I interpret as the man realising the dangers of giving in to tempation.
"I can see your green-screen mentality And I can feel the sting of it's consequence"
Again, this makes me think about superficial attraction.
"And I know, I shouldn't But it's too much too ignore, On emotion I deplore, Every time I look at you,
I just want to do it, I can clench my fist right through it But I just want to get off"
This is about letting the "animal" within win the struggle. He doesnt WANT to do it, hence he DEPLORES this emotion, and he have to clench his fist through it. But in the end, he just wants to "get off".
yur an idiot. its about blowing your lid.. and the scrutinizing demonizing precarious changes
you force on yourself as you pleasure center has erupted in your brain. the sedating incendiary chemicals your body releases after you get off. if you look at it that way, it can be quite scary. Greg reveals alot about his sexuality in this song. maby this only song. One of my favorites
Lascivious refers to "arousing sexual desire" or "inclined to lustfulness".
Diogenes was a greek philosopher who looked around the streets of Athens for an honest man.
Rectilinear refers to formed by straight lines.
So! My interpretation is that the beginning really does refer to the sexual "get off" and I always assumed it had to do with a lack of interest in the fake (green-screen mentality) of the person he is referring to and impatience at they way they create these unnecessary, and fake, situations (alluring intricacies).
But the second part does refer to a ride and going in straight lines while wanting to turn around, so that would refer to wanting to "get off" as in off the ride to get away from the future that we have created with these fallacies.
Never looked at it that way before though...
"Every time I look at you,
I just want to do it,
I can clench my fist right through it
But I just want to get off"
And this line here makes me think that he wants to become gay...?
"But I am damned to find a way
To revolve the other way"
Again, it's weird to think this about a BR song, but ever since the first time I heard this song this was my interpretation of it.
